Ugh, you naive fool! Rule #1 of dealing with an obviously conniving traitor: DO NOT make it clear that you know they’re an obviously conniving traitor!
It can be helpful to know who the obviously conniving traitors’ accessories in crime are, especially if you’re pretty sure they couldn’t have done their treachery alone. Like when the traitor is not a seasoned warrior, and they’re claiming to have witnessed a seasoned warrior killing their leader, and so they took it upon themselves to dispense justice.
That said, there’s a lot to be said for, “This is very troubling news. Tell me, who else saw this? Maybe they saw something that could explain why he would have done this.”
Brandon, please, if you can tell us in advance that the page will not be available, please tell me not to wait for it (you just notified everyone about it earlier). And then I like this comic so much that I have already drawn its 2d animation with dialogues in my head. However, the problem is that I have never used animation programs, so if I can draw something, I will send you what happened. (Which is unlikely because I draw well, very bad). Have a nice day!
Soooo.. I just forgot about that I just thought so at first, and then I thought and realized that I was thinking wrong xD. Damn, man, how are you so good at drawing? I recently decided to do this, but I can’t even get close to showing such tiny facial features of Shadow and Tim
I’ve been drawing for as long as I can remember, so… a lot of time and practice and patience! A little bit of talent helps speed the process up immensely as well.
he works full time i guess, this is just a hobby, he’s only gotten 230 pages done in over 6 and a half years. Lots of webcomics update twice a week or every weekday ( Sandra and woo*, questionable content, Gaia*, Will save world for gold ) *both by Powree and Oliver Knorzer, S&W having 1260 pages in 12 and a half years, and Gaia is finishing up it’s run with 920 pages ( counting chapter cover illustrations ) currently since Nov 1 2011.
if you Read this Brandon don’t take it like I dislike your methods, I’m in complete understanding, I just want to air some grievances.
it’s understandable that he can’t make this his main focus, it’s not profitable unless he gets a good patreon following / covers his website in any ads he get offered, and this comic is cult following at best, it’s nothing against his talent or speed, but unless he wants to close the comic’s updates in 2030 with only 610 pages, he’s got to step it up, and it really seems like he has at least 1000 more pages of content planned, we haven’t even hit the exact nature of the conflict in the comic yet, it’s still lots of worldbuilding and introducing the antagonists’ scheme and the history behind Tim’s family + other apparent things going on in the background with his mom and how all that happened.
We’re still in the flashbacks, and Tim was telling the story fondly*, even if the conflict is seemingly starting in Nox, we’ve no idea how it fits into Tim’s flashback, maybe the flashback is all just worldbuilding and setting the stage, maybe we’re getting close to the end of his flashback and the conflict that i assume will be the crux of the plot of the comic will start, but thinking that we might not see the turning point in the next year or two, It’s just a little disappointing that I might be 30 by the time this comic hits only 450 pages, and I could’ve started reading it when I was 18.
Its got an interesting story, cool characters, a little bit of nsfw now and then, some goofy cheesy teenager drama in some places, but altogether i would enjoy reading the whole thing.
What can I say? I draw pretty slowly on a good day, and if I’m not in the mood, it comes out like molasses. Such was the case this past weekend.
I actually have pretty shakey hands for an artist, and they cramp up easily, so there is a LOT of erasing and perfecting my line work as I go. I’m sure you’ve watched artists make perfect lines without any effort in other places, like livestreams or video tutorials maybe, but… uh… that’s not me! Haha. If I ever livestreamed my art process, you’d all understand why it takes so long. ๐
What takes a decent artist a few brush strokes can take me like an hour! Let’s just say there is a good reason why most of my art tends to have thicker line work.
And I know this goes without saying, but I don’t compare myself to other comic artists. Everyone works differently, and It’s pretty obvious that most of them work in art as their main job. They work on it every single day, so they CAN update twice a week. I work on it while I’m AT WORK on my breaks, so… that’s 15 minutes here and 15 minutes there, and I’m also trying to be social with my co-workers at the same time! it’s a slow process.
The real work load on the comic begins on Friday, working off whatever I managed to get done during the week. I did that every weekend for like five years and it nearly killed me. I like my two week update schedule currently, but I know I should try to push myself more to get something out every week again… but I also need to rest and have time to do other things!
I’m impressed with his determination as well as his imagination and talent, and he doesn’t claim a faster update frequency than he can usually meet (note the carefully modest update estimate in the upper right-hand corner). I really look forward to seeing the rest of the plot unfold, just not necessarily within a single year.
I’m still working on it, I’m working! XD I’m also quite tired from my job today. It’ll be up when it’s up, so stay tuned!
Heh, A lesson learned from working on The Monster Under the Bed is that my next project will NOT have an update schedule. There’ll be no expectations from anyone then! It’ll be totally up in the air and I can update whenever I want.
You will need to resist those and do whatever is necessary for your physical and mental health.
Be aware that such demands, even the unrealistic ones, if constant, can create the great ailment of so many artists, DEPRESSION.
I don’t know how best to prevent it, but if talking about it to a sympathetic audience will help, there’s one here.
Found this just yesterday and read through the archives. Absolutely amazing story. I love this presentation style. Just the right amount of adult content to feel natural with an amazingly wholesome story of blossoming love amidst political turmoil.
Brandon, do you have any pre-written script or plot?
Oh yeah, of course I do! I have a LOT planned out in advance.
Oh it’s cool!
I will wait for a new page. You are a REALLY good author and I like this style of drawing ๐
I have to agree. i just found this today and i am not disappointed that I am caught up but will be waiting for more.

Exactly!
I read this in under 2 days. I canโt wait for new posts every Sunday
*Coughs on drink* ๐
You know what “RSS feed” is, right?
Will there be a page today?
Nope, sorry! Next week!

It comes out every two weeks. I figured people knew that by now. XD

How often do you do these pages, exactly?
Brandon DOESN’T do them exactly.
He does them eventually.
