They have libraries filled with books from the human world, they speak our language. Presumably they’d pick up our slang, too.
Arlight,alright…but how did get the books?I mean,as far as we know,the scare humans,from under the bed,not stealing they’re books(and yes I know that Shadow steals Tim’s socks but who would let a Dictionary under the bed? 🙂 ).I’ll wait for your response.

Or it’s a standard “translate to equivalent Anglo-American terms” thing. It’s done so that the audience understands what’s going on.
As an example, most English speakers would probably be puzzled at a character who, in a fit of extreme annoyance, yelled out “tabernacle!”[1] So, it would be common to have a character use something like “fuck!” even though they are from Montreal.
So it’s quite possible that the ‘actual’ word there compared her to some annoying or unpleasant creature, but that it has been changed to “bitch” for our benefit.
[1] “Tabernac” is about the worst possible swear word in Quebecois French.
I see your point,but we can all safely assume that they are regular normal english speakers,also imagine this as real,Nightmare did call Shadow a bitch,because why would they use words from other languages,like French for example.You made a point but I don’t see where you’re going with this.Feel free to reply,from now on we got 2 weeks to spare,*sobbing like a little tabernacle* because no update will be made to the website…..
They know about common human pets, as they probably encounter them from time to time. For instance, Midnight has called Tim ‘Dog-face’ once or twice before.

‘Cause if they hide from us most of the time and they come out at night to scare humans,then this means that they also broke those rules(not necesarly the girls and not necesarly in the close past) at more then one time,or are they just stealing books randomly at night from humans and call it “treasure”.
Wow,so many theories have poped up in my head that i could write an entire book…hopefully they won’t steal it 😉 (but really though)

Lets see, she holds a forbidden book, given to her by an outcast legend, and is in a forbidden relationship, learning secrets of both cultures. My guess is Shadow is destined for far greater things than being top of the class. But I still suspect some tail whipping is going to go down soon. The only mystery is, what color is Nightmares red hide going to turn when it gets beat?

Hey Brandon… Um I know it´s kinda late to ask but… Tim and Shadow are couple already? Maybe the answer it might be too obvious but I’m still wondering. I mean, Since the beginning SHADOW always have shown like this kinda interest in Tim and in this lasts episodes we have seen how she is taking that “step”, she is flirting all the time with Tim and she literally let Tim touch her tail (which as we have seen, it reprsents a third hand/Private part such as a… Waist, butt, etc.? Just like when a girl lets you touch her in parts not a lot of people touch, you get the point) Just like a girlfriend. BUT Tim however even tough he like her too, he has been more restrictive and innocent, trying to evade all this moments but at the same time loving them… So what’s actually going on here? SHADOW behaves like a girlfriend already while Tim is acting like a Friend with “rights”
Or is that this couple would be like those couples that they didn´t ask if they wanna date? They just started dating like nothing? PLS so much confussion and SHIP stuff in my head
Shadow has a very strong connection forming with Tim, which if you were to ask her about it, she would deny is actually ‘love’ at all, as Tim is a silly human, don’t be silly! Then she might start to hyper-ventilate.
Tim on the other hand is a dumb, oblivious human male, and assumes they are just really good friends. Any weird behaviour he just chalks up to her being a Noxian. I mean, they don’t even know what underwear is? They’re weird. Right?
They had a four panel kissing session. I think Tim should have some clue that they’re more than just pals.

So another question I think you might not answer but I`m taking the risk to ask! If NOXIANS and HUMANS “showing affection” methods are different the I will ask:
1- In the beginning of the comic you showed us that they literally had sex… (Normal taking the HUMAN perspective) But… if shadow is learning all of this human culture, how she will get to know this thing? She would have to see it somewhere right? I bet she doesn`t even know what SEX is at all! And I know they won`t just reach that point without knowing anything!
AND 2- If showing affection in NOXIAN culture is basically (most of it) using the tail, then HOW they use it? Not in a sexual way… just in an affection way, cause in media the tail is used to seduce someone, i`ve never watched a tail being used as a tool for showing affection, how`s it? I know you hide that part as “You won`t understand, you don`t have one” But i got curious!
3- And this on is really important! (This is just a theory i just got into that might sound dumb but….) SHADOW (as we`ve seen) is not the first monster taking a deep relationship with a human… It had happened before! I speculate that some of those relationships might have worked in the past, right? as we concluded in Q2 they have organs like us! They have the “power” to reproduce as well… Is it possible for a human and a noxian to have one child? (a hybrid?) Thant would be interesting to see! Like you grow up thinking that your parents were both humans and then BOOM! You noticed one go them is/was a noxian! That would be GREAT! at least cool!
Ok for my whole speech to end xD (I`m so annoying) I think a good addition to the story would be a LOVE TRIANGLE. Y`know this whole SUPER cool and handsome gentleman noxian who has all the noxians in love with him but He puts his eyes on SHADOW (and she actually shows interest because he is a really nice guy! reaching the point where she does`t know who is the RIGHT one for her)
