I think Momma may know exactly how Shadow did it.
She knows for certain that her sister is involved, and that Shadow is doing the same thing, yes. However in all this time, she has never discovered exactly what the secret actually is.
ok, NOW youve piqued my interest. Moonie did tell Shadow she knew she was “emulating her old tricks”, and didnt want Shadow to turn out like Blackheart did. Shadow replied that she “could never…do that”. What “that” is has not actually been uttered on screen, yet seems to be an urban legend among the sisterhood. Everyone knows, no one speaks. But now you say not even Moonie knows what Blackheart did and where, if not exactly with whom? That would also imply she doesnt know where Shadow is learning the things she is learning.
On page 65 Moonlight asks: “How did you do it?” after explaining that the mythical Lady Blackheart is, in fact, real. Implying that she indeed doesn’t actually know the trick. Moonlight also states that Blackheart was ‘an old friend’ at the time, but now reveals she was her sister all along.
The ‘that’ they speak of could be anything really, since there are many implied rumours about Blackheart; but really I think she just means that she could never run away and abandon her duty like Blackheart did. The guild life is all she knows, essentially and is just now starting to learn a few things beyond it’s trappings.

No spoilers – just explaining what is in the previous pages.
From what I see it is mostly simple. Insted of scaring several people a little you scare one person to death that they might loose you. I am sure there is something I am not seeing, but that is what I have gathered so far.
It seems obvious to me. The fact that Shadow’s friend got nothing at all from the boy just verifies my opinion.
He may be young, but he has fallen in love with the girl. He is, as Kreldor suggested, afraid that he will lose her, and also frightened by the thought that he very well may spend the rest of his life with her. At least he hopes so.
Naw, Tim just isnt afraid of Mid. He knows he can take her with tickles and probably could overpower her if the claws came out, but I dont think he believes she would seriously try to harm him. They dont like each other, but Mid knows Shadow would rip her a new one and stuff her own tail into it if she hurt him.
Exactly. She’s just another friend. Shadow is not just another friend.
It’s possible that those devices might register more than one emotion. Fear flairs up, and goes away. Some other emotions stay.
I smell more back story about Sunny coming.
Moonie may not know about Tim specifically, but by now its fairly clear she knows what Shadow is up to. Heck Sunny pretty much spelled it out for her in the bathtub.

It’s ‘better’ because it gets results. That’s a phrase perhaps stemming back to something her sister might have said in the past.
Shadow believes she isn’t cheating technically, but I’m not so sure she actually understands exactly what she is doing to get the results yet. As far as she knows she isn’t doing anything special at all, other than hanging out.
So, the results are actually all coming from Tim, and not from her improving in scaring other human children by what she learns in the movies?

Moonlight and Blackheart have had a falling out in the past, and don’t necessarily like each other… well, Moonlight doesn’t like Blackheart at least. It seems that Blackheart is willing to talk still. I’m thinking it’s all over the big secret that Blackheart refused to talk about, and now that Shadow is following this same path, she is being nice about it, so as not to drive her away too.
And yes, she knows her sister is keeping an eye on things too now, whether she likes it or not.

Buuuut… There’s an easier way that you can use that can really give your text the UMPH it needs in these shouting situations and the like. It’s almost like drawing your words the way you want, it feels like.
