So just found this a little bit ago, I am impressed on how its progressing, guess you have me following you for updates now. Keep up the great work b(*w*)b
I’ve honestly been following this story from the very beginning, and I come here every Sunday night to read the new page. I’m pretty sursurem addicted to Monster Under the Bed at this point. Please keep up this awesome story, and I promise I’ll keep coming back.
I’ve been wondering about that. I don’t know if we have been clued into whether “Mother” is her biological mother or more of an orphanage caretaker of some sort. I’m suspecting the latter.
I’m pretty sure it was clearly stated at some point that “Mother” is an honorary title in this case, and not necessarily an indicator of familial relations.
That said, our dear author has declined to clearly state that it is ONLY an honorary title, leaving the door open for speculation like this.
Actually, I’ve said on multiple occasions that It’s only a title. Moonlight has no biological children, although she has raised Shadow as an adopted daughter since she was left on her doorstep.
Look back a few strips, Orange hair was left on the doorstep for the White skin. But as for mother, it’s the form of hierarchy. She’s a teacher that cares for the upbringing of the new blood.
Momma probably doesn’t know specifically about Tim, but she probably has a good idea about Shadow’s off-duty excursions involving a boy, given how dolled up Shade is right now coupled with Shade’s own rise in score and how happy Shade was when she ran into Moonie and Morty earlier. It’s not cheating, but methinks Moonlight will be hitting the books later for loopholes to keep Shadow happy without breaking guild law.
That she probably heard Shadow say that she doesn’t want the position of First Reaver (is that a senior-bedbug position or “fast track to leadership roles” position?) probably warms Moonie’s heart, given what Blackheart said about “power isn’t love”.
Several people have mentioned the punishment of putting her in the closet. So I know I am probably completely wrong, but I like the idea tat the reason the bedbugs don’t like going in the closet is because that is the domain of other monsters, just like under the bed is theres. There’s all those myths about monsters in the closet just like there are about monsters under the bed and earlier in the comic Shadow mentions that the the medallions only open up a way to Tim’s world under the bed, she’s not sure why though. I think the medallions of one of the other monster factions opens into closets and thus she doesn’t like to go in there because it’s their turf or because she’s a kid and “cooties.” think maybe the boys group might use closets.
In other words; the monster boys come out of the closet to humans, and this most likely scares those probably white (Since that’s all we’ve scene so far?) males. Got it. Jokes aside, when was there a punishment or even a scene of Shadow not liking the closet? Tim was the one freaking out since she was underwearless. I don’t remember anything
Interesting theory. If thats the case, maybe thats not the best punishment for red… she seems eager to spend more time with a certain member of the boys guild.

I’m still betting that Tim’s mother is actually Lady Blackheart.
Candy is dandy, liquor is quicker, but incest is best.

Yep on page 57 it says that shadow was abandoned and that the leader high mother moonlight

Brandon, I take it from that statement that it’s also a definite no on Lady Blackheart actually being Tim’s Mom.
@Brandon Sorry, I guess I don’t read the comments as often as I think I do xD
Thanks for the clarification!

He never said ‘no’ to the Tim’s mom being Blackheart. Just to Moonlight being Shadow’s mother.
This is quite possibly the best story I’ve ever seen. I can’t wait to see what shadow and timmy do next. I love the character development too though.
🙂
Do you think we cab have another voting picture. I think your votes are slowing down when don’t change them.
So cuuuteee~
Then Lady Moonlight *knows*…
Mothers always knows.
Baskin Robbins always finds out … oh wait, wrong movie. 🙂

Just my wacky theory.

When they were in the broom closet together in the kitchen, afterwards she says ‘Eww! Don’t ever shove me in a closet!’ or something to that effect.

Mom’s dialogue is white. Yeah, I’d say she’s mad!
Two tails curl as one.
Mother MUST know…. no way she doesn’t !
… right ?
You done pissed off the wrong lady there, Nightmare.
