There is no evidence yet, in the story, that Shadow has ever encountered Ruth-the-human. If she did, though, and notices the mole and the clothing-color, especially if that book discusses transformations….
Eyes perhaps, but what about nose? Noxians seem to have a very strong sense of smell. Ruth frequently visits Tims room, so there should at least be a few traces for her to pick up on, no?
She is the terror that flaps in the night.
She is the shadow on the wall, catching all sons naughtiness!
She is Blackheart Mom!
(sorry, couldnt resist)
A synonym for someone that is Ruthless is that they are black-hearted.
Page 91 Panel 6- Moonlight, speaking to Lady Blackheart: “Get out of here R…”
It has been established that when each character uses emotion in their words that Brandon has them change color. Page 91 Panel 5- Lady Blackheart’s emotional words appear in yellow. Page 99 Panel 1- Ruth’s exclamation appears in the same shade of yellow. Page 74 Panel 4- same color when Ruth is yelling at Tim. Page 109 Panel 3- in a moment of shock hearing Tim’s sleeptalking that same color appears again.
And the smoking gun…
Page 95 Panel 4 on the right side the silhouettes are that of Ruth and Thomas.
I’m sorry Brandon. I’m convinced Ruth is Lady Blackheart.
while that is a very Plausible outcome, it’s also possible Brandon just enjoys leaving red herrings lying around. granted i also believe the theory to be true and just have a bit of a cynical outlook ;P
With the attention to detail he has shown in his art, I doubt Brandon shows any less to the plot, and an entire school of red herrings designed to misdirect is certain not outside the realm of possibility. Especially with the joke-has-become-the-joke metatheories flying on the forums. We DO know how he likes to poke the beehive (page 99 much?)
I’m sure I’m not the 1st to ask this, but does anybody else suspect that Ruth (Is that Tim’s mum’s name?) and Lady Blackheart are the same person?
All I have to go on is that they’re both busty women with the same hair, but it also strikes me as odd that she’d catch on to shadow before anybody around her does, she could have followed her from Tim’s room, one night.
Wow thats awkward. Not only did he mistake his mom for her, but his reaction means its something they both would say. Well they do say you marry your mother. *cough cough*
Shadow pretty much said the exact same thing, with the same birthday peck on the same cheek as she was leaving earlier. The confusion is understandable
I ran the printer to long now iT needs alotta ink xD im makin a book outa this hope iT doesnt stop spon XD also not my name Tims neighbor is Bob Ross’ who ships iT i do xD i can paint trees now…….
i have a really cool theory that explain other than the all mighty book the fact that blackheart know of shadows little adventure, she is ruth
think about it the hair color the body shape the fact that she “hide” upstair like she did or something like that a fews page before, or the shadows we were greated with that explaination that looked a lot like tim parents
anyway it’s jut a theory of mine but gonna freaks you if i’m right
love the story so far continues brandon don’t let the ship sunk ^^
love the girls of the internet O:
well never mind the mod you can shove those comment in the bin i did not ready the comment section and i’m clearly not the first to explain it
thanks anyway
Well, the Noxian Encyclopedias that can only be accessed by high ranking members of the Brother&Sisterhood possibly contain information on how to “cast magic”, allowing one to disguise themselves as humans. It could be that at one time the beings from the World that Shadow is from used to be more prevalent on the earth until modern times. As it were, this could explain human tales of shape-shifters and similar beings.
It’s quite possible that Ruth is Lady Blackheart. It’s also quite possible, according to “PharmaDan”, that based on lifespan, Lady Blackheart could even be Ruth’s mother. Of course that only works if they are all living together or nearby and the subjective lifespan of the Noxians.
Its my opinion that Ruth is Lady Blackheart, but until confirmation I’m keeping an open mind.
Hmmmmmm… Brandon is stirring the plot…
Very evil thought, what if that is really Shadow using the book to disguise herself as Ruth?
There is no evidence yet, in the story, that Shadow has ever encountered Ruth-the-human. If she did, though, and notices the mole and the clothing-color, especially if that book discusses transformations….
Interesting theory, except for the fact that Shadow has yet to lay eyes on Ruthie… YET?
Eyes perhaps, but what about nose? Noxians seem to have a very strong sense of smell. Ruth frequently visits Tims room, so there should at least be a few traces for her to pick up on, no?
“Awww my pookums has nicknames for me”
Heh… on second thought… why is my nickname Shadow? XD
She is the terror that flaps in the night.
She is the shadow on the wall, catching all sons naughtiness!
She is Blackheart Mom!
(sorry, couldnt resist)
I think Tim almost brewed it
I think she is lady blackheart, just noting my opinion.

Ah, I see I’m not the only one 😛
Yus, I agree.

I admit, that does appear to be the picture I am obviously painting, but I’ll not confirm it, either. 🙂

I’m surprised nobody has pointed out that both Lady Blackheart and Ruth have the same beauty mark next to their mouth.

Pretty much since lady Blackheart was first mentioned it was the most popular theory.
I didn’t think I could be the 1st but I’m new, here :p
Wow thats awkward. Not only did he mistake his mom for her, but his reaction means its something they both would say. Well they do say you marry your mother. *cough cough*
or he only half-heard her and assumed it was shadow saying goodnight.
Shadow pretty much said the exact same thing, with the same birthday peck on the same cheek as she was leaving earlier. The confusion is understandable

Rip my keyvx board noww
I’ve noticed that only seasons 2′ 4 and 6 of Buffy The Vampire Slayer have Halloween episodes.

People are saying that Ruth could be Lady Blackheart… but she has a tail, as as far as the comic has shown, Ruth doesn’t. Explain that.
An artist did it 🙂
Shape-shifting spell learned from the book.
A thought- Has their been anything said about monster lifespans? If not it may be that it isn’t Ruth, but HER mother who is Blackheart,

Heh busted kiddo but your ma dosen’t seem too worried as of yet…. Kinda saw that coming.
No, I finally finished binge reading this comic. I’m now sad because my life has no meaning.
