Hey it could be the adult costume of red riding hood. So Tim will eather die of embarrassment or blood loss. Depends on wich costume she went with. I hope the adult version. If lady black heart is tims mom I would have no problem beleaving it’s the adult version do to tims mom and dad nightly activities. Such as cosplay due to the sailor part in the beginning it would make since they would have costumes like that. What does everyone think about that. Please respond

My only question, for Brandon, concern’s Mrs. Newton’s voice, and whether or not Shadow might recognize it. It is possible that as part of a witch disguise, she is deliberately distorting her normal voice. Still, we all know Shadow had a major conversation with Lady Blackheart earlier in the day….
Who knows? I mean, how often do 2 different women have the same voice? ;-D
Depends on their mood. All females have that universal sonic attack on the male nervous system after all, it starts sounding pretty much the same after a few hundred exposures…
When the two “different women” are actually the same woman, of course. Now, I am aware of the possibility that if there is a major physical transformation of body-form, between Nox/Blackheart and Human/Ruthie, then her voice could also change as part of that. But it is also possible that her voice doesn’t change, which would make anyone encountering both forms able to recognize that voice. Shadow is the first one we know of who has that opportunity, and so I asked a legitimate question.
Meanwhile, if Ruthie is Blackheart, she *knows* Shadow is coming to visit, and she knows what Shadow’s costume will be. That means, if her voice is not normally transformed, and if she wants to stay unrecognized by Shadow, she needs to deliberately distort her human voice –which is a quite reasonable thing to do on Halloween while wearing a witch costume.
Well, I think Blackheart uses a low throaty sort of tone, and Ruth is pretty upbeat and bubbly normally.
Thank you! I shall assume that IF Ruthie is also Blackheart, then the physical transformation of forms also affects her voice (and thus affects the ability of others to recognize her across forms). It’s one of those simple kinds of things that needs to be made clear, lest it trip-up the story later…. thanks, again!
While we cant actually hear them, being a comic, each character has a certain color of text in their speech bubble when they raise their voice or stress something, or even just giggle. Most are unique, yet Ruth and Blackheart share the same color. Thus as far as we can tell, they sound identical.
I only see 4 fingers drawn there.
Four fingers, and a thumb hidden, which isn’t unbelievable given the angle. But yes, I’m curious as to where she’s hiding the tail. (The hood probably hides her ears enough to fool the causal low=light viewer.)
Of course, whether the pinky needs to be uncurled manually is another story.
Good lord I hope we didn’t wait the extra week just so you could draw all those bricks. 😛
I still think this comic would do extremely well on the ‘Cartoon Network’ or such as a more adult oriented animated series. 😀

At the moment, considering what her cape can cover, she might simply have wrapped her tail around her waist. If no one sees the start or end of it, from the front it would just look like an unusual belt.

I see two possibilities.
First, Shadow has used the book to magically mimic the form of a human girl. Even if Blackheart is not Ruth and the man she fell in love with (and chose to be with) is human and she probably used her knowledge to mimic human form so she could live in our world. She could easily show Shadow how to do the same.
Secondly, Shadow may be using conventional means to hide her nonhumanity. She has striped leggings and sleeves and gloves to hide most of her skin, the hood may cover her ears and her tail could probably be wrapped around her midriff. The only thing to take care of is her face and eyes and a mask could take care of that. Alternatively, she could be going as a cute monster girl and could claim that her real face is paint or a mask. With everything else covered that would be believable.
