This is every encounter I had with my parents when a girl was involved. Also glad to have ya back, family issues can bring someone’s world to a standstill
Huh, I just noticed something they swapped (meaning their costumes are the opposite of their usual selves), usually tims the human and shadows the monster, now Tims the monster (Freddy Kruger) and shadows the human (Red riding hood).
I said this elsewhere but it’s worth repeating here too, that Shadow has a strong joint lock on Tim’s right elbow (in Panel 5) so don’t try to avoid being sniffed (or moving, or even reaching for a tissue, Tim) because Shadow’s GOT you now and can snap your arm like a toothpick.
Hmm, Tim is already pretty flustered in the first panel, maybe this is the beginning of his attraction of to Shadow? I mean, there was that whole thing with him thinking of her as a girl after she accidentally flashed him, but since then he hasn’t really shown any signs of attraction to her. Maybe that’s about to change.
Wonderful return. Hope things are going well on your end Brandon. Also keen to find out how the transformation happened. Is it magic or just a really good costume design?
If it is magic hopefully the camera won’t reveal her true appearance.
Although an arc dealing with the shenanigans of obtaining the negatives before they get developed could be quite fun. What better to bring a couple together than some store robbery.
That would be interesting indeed, but sadly there won’t be much time for it, because the Halloween arc is the final part of the childhood arc of the story. (except for a few minor flashbacks later if need be)
Brandon has previously indicated (comment in some other comic) that most of the main story will involve the 18-year-old Tim and Shadow –and he didn’t say how much older they might get while the main story develops 🙂
I will say that I’ve envisioned at least one scenario in my head wherein Tim and Shadow are elderly, although I highly doubt the story will ever run that long.
Ah, the time honored tradition of embarrassing ones children, it nevet gets old! Thanks for the update and I get first review!👍
look at his mother… i almost hear a humming like mmmmMMMMMMMMM… you dont need to go out for a treat!
I don’t know whether to be more worried about Shadow’s sniff in panel four or Ruth’s expression in panel five…
Just noticed Shadow sniffing Tim. I assume she can smell his fear so that means she gets a meal out of this as well as candy.
Yeah, that is a real predatory vibe she’s giving off.
Well, it’ll get touched on in a bit, so we shall see!
Ruth knows what’s going on. Blackheart? Yeah, looks like it.
Her facial expression on the last panel is saying it all xD
YAY!!

Yay finally a new chapter and on my birthday too.
Happy Birthday!
Meanwhile, Tim’s mom is looking at Shadow’s rear end.
I think mom Newton knows.
Everything.
(Great to have you back, Brandon! I hope things are getting better on your end!)
We all think Momma Newton is Lady Blackheart

What a fantastic page, I love each and every panel! I wish you the world Brandon!
worth the wait .!! an panel 4 ” sniff ” heh she found a / the weakness…

Welcome to learning about gender!

Great page, Brandon!
Actually, he’s already confessed to being attracted to her.

Sure thing, it’s some kind of magic, maybe a spell from the book, that Shadow got from lady Blackheart.
If it is magic hopefully the camera won’t reveal her true appearance.

Last of Childhood arc huh? How far ahead are we going for the next one?

Me either!

You could in theory present that scenario as an “epilogue”, a kind of flash-forward (instead of flash-back) after the main story ends.
@Brandon : “although I highly doubt the story will ever run that long.” aww we can hope it lasts that long.!!
It’ll last a decent chunk of time, but eventually I’ll have to move on to other things. 😉 I’ve got a few more ideas under my hat I’d love to try.
I think that the family business is a camera shop.
