So I read “Brotherhood” and instantly I hear in my mind’s eye “Rumor has it that Aventis Aretino has been trying to contact.. the Dark Brotherhood!”
And then whiny little Aventis shows up just in time to watch a belt get misplaced because of the sigil buckle.
The shock of seeing a woman kills him.
Quest failed.
… Anyone want to bet they’re going to unleash some unspeakable evil that was mislabeled in some text by its worshipers or something? It’s either going to be that behind the door, or ‘ultimate power’ that will corrupt them and cause the main male and female lead to have to go stop them by completing some quest or another. Well, either stop them or whatever’s locked behind that door at any rate.
I’ve decided to assume that they will be able to open the door, on the sole assumption that Terminus is correct when he says that Aegises from the Brotherhood and the Sisterhood are a “certain grade”. I’m thinking that there are other groups with other Aegises, which are considered lower-grade. There might also be a higher-grade Aegis (maybe Lady Blackheart has one of those?)….
Someone should have mentioned by now that the symbol on the door here is almost identical to a symbol on the cover of the encyclopedia-book that Lady Blackheart gave Shadow, and which she looked into in #97 ( /?comic=97-temptation <–append that to the website name). Since we now know that the book is a grimoire, it is possible that whatever is behind the door is very magical. Maybe a dragon? 🙂
It could be empty on the other side, it’s contents having been used or moved long ago. Which means there’s a fat lot of disappointment waiting for this guy then.

So then it’s probably the vault monster from Borderlands?

Are you going to continue working on this comic?
… yeah? It’s not stopped.
Not sure why but something tells me her’s won’t work. She is not number 1 in scare rank. But Shadow is..

As for Nightmare she looks very cute here (the last panel). Maybe because she feels confused… At least she is not angry and doesn’t shout 🙂
