According to Shadow in #81 ( /?comic=81-that-thing ), Nox folk don’t know about kissing, and Nightmare, at least, looks appropriately surprised. Terminus might be an exception to that general not-knowing, of course, depending on how much he has studied humans (is First Reaver in his guild, after all) –but considering how much he has been focused on Nox history, I tend to find this action to be more doubtful than consistent with previous comics.
So she’s that kind of girl eh?
Should have included this in my other msg: Assuming Shadow and Nightmare are about the same age, and knowing how Shadow responded to her first kiss, even though Shadow tried it willingly, I think we should expect this ploy by Terminus to backfire Big Time.
Meanwhile, for all those who wrote comments to the previous comic, talking about how Nightmare’s Aegis might not be good enough to open the door here, I seem to recall Nightmare telling Terminus early on that she wanted to overtake Shadow. Therefore Terminus has known all along that Nightmare doesn’t have the highest fear-score, yet is still convinced her Aegis will work on the door. It only needs to be a Sisterhood Aegis.
I don’t think Shadow and Nightmare are the same age. Red looks a couple years older. Teenager, rather than pre-teen. She *was* portrayed as more experienced than Shadow, for starters (thus her surprise when Shadow surpassed her).
Yeah, Nightmare is older than Shadow by several years.
I don’t recall that that was portrayed. Can you specify the comic in which that was said? In #36 ( /?comic=36-bed-bugs <–append that to the website name), the Bed Bugs is described as a group learning basic skills. If Nightmare is older and more skilled, shouldn't she be in another group?
Now I wish I had refreshed the page before writing the above reply. Having the author outright declare something like that makes a big difference!
Brandon, I just did a pretty thorough review of a bunch of comics, and it is very difficult to tell if Nightmare has any chest development at all. Meanwhile, Shadow is 12 and basically flat-chested, with a slight hint of cleavage in #106 ( /?comic=106-boiling-point ), and even less of a hint in #101 ( /?comic=101-stranger-danger ), and Midnight has noticeable cleavage in #113 (/?comic=113-something-borrowed), so it is easy to see that she could be somewhat older than Shadow.
On the other hand, if Nightmare is also somewhat older than Shadow, and is still flat-chested, maybe that explains some of her attitude 🙂

Nightmare calls Midnight “little sister”.
That might actually be a reference to The Sisterhood. One thing that has been pointed out previously, is that Lady Blackheart in #91 ( /?comic=91-speak-of-the-devil ) calls Lady Moonlight “little sister”, AND in that comic both females have the same exact shape at the ends of their tails. An actual biological relationship could explain that same-shape thing. But Midnight and Nightmare have fairly different shapes at the ends of their tails ( /?comic=61-nightmare ).
Heh. I’ve given up trying to explain this one. I’ve answered it too many times. It’ll all be cleared up eventually.
Anon Y Mous, I know they all call each other sisters. (Not giving spoilers here). That’s rather a matter of she calling her *little* sister – yet another subtle reinforcement of the, already confirmed, fact she is a bit (undetermined bit) older than Shadow and Midnight. If she were of the same age, she’d likely (given her usual attitude) have said just “sister” (I make also here an educated guess that she’d have added “dear” or something like that to fit in the general tone of her blatant excuses, but that’s just my opinion) 😉
And one more thing I should have thought about sooner. In #105 ( /?comic=105-off-limits ) Terminus talks about the youthfulness of Shadow, yet here he is messing with Nightmare, who we have reason to think is about the same age as Shadow –the Bed Bugs is a pretty small group, and other ages appear to be in other groups, per the bathing scene in #48 ( /?comic=48-pushing-her-buttons ). Not keeping his actions consistent with his words is one definition of “hypocrisy”.

So either shadow is too young and inexperienced to know her kind also kisses, or Terminus has human influences. Perhaps that is how he became first reaver?

Next page, they both react like Tim and Shade did, red kicks his ass 3 ways from the next update, and final panel has him laying in a broken heap muttering “should have gone with the tail wrap…”
Welp, who knows, maybe she’s not the level he needs so, he’d probably ditch her for someone of higher level. For example, a black skinned blonde…
But that’s me guessing. The best part of reading slow stories is guessing what’s next XD

He probably stole a bunch of Porn magazines from the Human world and has been studying them. And yes, Nightmare is about to be in a world of trouble if she does not get herself together really fast.
It occurs to me that since a male Nox is the monsters in the closet, and porn mags are not infrequently stashed in closets, he might not have had to go very far to find some.
Doesn’t hold water. Same ammount of porn under beds, yet the girls still don’t know it.
Well…. Monsters under beds and in closets are generally associated with human children, and young enough to not have any access to porn. Zero porn in both places is certainly the “same amount” –but now we have to think about the exploring of connections to Earth from Nox, that had to be done to identify closets and beds associated with human children. Shadow’s Bed Bugs group likely is restricted to previously-identified connections. Terminus is significantly older and might have been allowed to do some exploring.
Perhaps it has to do with the way the portals work. How would they come out from under a bed that has all manner of clothes or those storage totes stuffed under it? My guess would be, the floor and anything on it is temporarily removed. So that nicely settles how there are no porn mags for the girls, but plenty for the boys.
