Yes, the red edges look very soft and flexible. Perhaps that’s why Nox tails are so sensitive. Or maybe Shadow’s just a bit excited and those parts swell in such cases?
I’m glad that the series is continuing, but mostly, I’m glad that you’re feeling well enough to be creative. That’s a good sign. I know from experience that… certain events… can hamper motivation… no… the will to do anything. Keep up the good work, my friend.
That reminds me; there is a classic SF story called “Conjure Wife” (author is Fritz Leiber) in which the main assumption in the story is that all women are witches, keeping it generally a secret from men. If Craig ever encounters that book, he’s going to be convinced it is true.
What I find really funny is that she might be totally BS-ing about the scent thing. Just throwing up some scare on the rube because how the heck is he gonna know any better? Might as well lay it on thick eh?
We know that Shadow has an excellent sense of smell. Back in #42 ( /?comic=42-parents ) Shadow told Tim that his dad smells like Tim –and she was hiding in a closet when she got that scent. So to find Craig all she needs to do is try enough new portals under beds until she catches Craig’s scent again. He has to sleep sometime, somewhere, and he doesn’t know anything about how he might block access to him by Nox folk.
Of course, he goes off and tells everyone he’s seen a Monster roaming the streets, whereupon they all roll their eyes and say “Well, Duh! It’s Hallowe’en!” The perfect alibi!
Craig reminds me a lot of Sid from Toy Story. You’re happy that he got his comeuppance, but at the same time, you can’t help but feel sorry for the guy. He’s probably gonna be scarred for life.
A part of me wonders if Shadow’s lines here are meant to be a reference to any of the scary/horror movies she and Tim watched together – I don’t see any phrases that are clearly taken from a movie I can recognize, but that doesnt mean it can’t be! This kind of ‘scaring’ goes beyond the sheer visual/startling ambush shock Shadow had done before – she is putting a persistent fear into Craig that will remain with him for a while. I wonder how it will show up in her next aegis reading? 😀
I’m pretty sure most of the outdoor backgrounds are photographs of actual houses on some street somewhere, perhaps edited a bit (like contrast reduction).
I have a feeling Craig might end up sitting in the fetal pose in his bed with the lights on, jumping at every little creak and snap in the house.
Well, what else is he gonna do? Tell everyone what he saw?
What I thought she said on the draft: “Happy Halloween!”
Actual dialogue: “I’ll hunt you down and make you disappear!”
Welp, I was pretty far off.
Cute – cute and 10x cute.. I love her tail

You know you’re a committed pedophile when you see sexual reactions in every drawing of a tween.
“Committed”? Never convicted – never even charged, so – “committed” not so.
Bring yur evidence.
“I’ve got your scent now, I’ll find you!”
Way to be absolutely terrifying, Shadow.
Man Craig is going to get eaten alive one of these days if he ain’t to careful or smart.

I think this event will make Craig forever fearful of every woman, after all, one just transformed right before his eyes.

His attitude has been adjusted for life.
I dunno… Sid seems fine in Toy Story 3. (He’s the garbage man at the end)

Great way to end this particular confrontation. And I still can’t get over how amazing the background drawings are!!!!
