#142 “The Talk”
So, hear me out. Call me crazy, but I think Tim’s Mom Ruth is actually Lady Blackheart!
I mean, she has the same mole, and her hair is similar… and their special text colour is the same! Also, what other Noxian wears high-heeled shoes? Nobody. They don’t wear shoes! And Also, also: Moonlight went to call Blackheart “R-” that one time in the bath… and Thomas calls her ‘Vice Admiral Ruthless!’ when they were roll playing. I think that’s it though…
So yeah, that’s my theory. What do you guys think?! 😉
And stay tuned: There’s a bonus page coming up very soon (a few hours from now!) to make up for all the bi-weekly nonsense lately.
In re: your description of this page. Nah! I think it’s just coincidence and you’re just grasping at straws. LOL.
Back here again. Just wondering. So now we know that Ruth is Lady Blackheart, but what about Shadow’s origins?
My hypothesis (which I hope to be wrong about) is that Shadow is Lady Blackheart’s daughter from another partner, which would technically make Shadow and Tim…step-siblings, I suppose.
Or perhaps that Shadow was merely an abandoned child from other Noxian parents, perhaps?
Well, Brandon, it’s your story, and I trust in your plan.
You are very wrong.
It’s a common enough theory, and I don’t really get how people keep arriving at it, to be honest. It’s absurd that I would write it that way and have Tim and Shadow be siblings in the end, it’s not that kind of story at all. If it was I would be upfront about it.
Trust me, I haven’t played all my cards yet.
I look forward to seeing how you play your cards, then. I think most of us tend to draw early conclusions based on what little information we’ve got, and that’s probably why that common theory keeps resurfacing.
On a side note, I do like Shadow’s human form as much as I like her usual form.
Side note #2: Lady Blackheart said that she once lusted after power, but lost something in the end. I really wonder what that is, truthfully. I mean, she’s got a family, and she’s taken a shine to Shadow, so I don’t think she’s lost too much.
Question: Can HTML tags be used in comments? I saw that you marked your “very” in italics, so I was wondering if I could also use the occasional Bold or Italics tags whenever I post in future.
Yeah, i’m also flabbergasted with all the people thinking she would be Shadow’s mom. That would have lead to quite different reactions that time when Timmy mumbled about Shadow to his mom while sleeping.
And well, i would say it has been made pretty obvious who Shadow’s DAD is from a boatload of MORTIS’ reactions.
I know this is a late reply to your reply, but I didn’t see it anywhere else, soo…
I think this is George Lucas’ fault. Luke and Leia turned out to be fraternal twins separated at birth, so the romantic idea (snort) of an accidental match has become embedded in common culture. Personally, I didn’t think they were related mostly because they were born one month apart, roughly.
It’s been known to actually happen in real life. There’s even a term for it, genetic sexual attraction. People tend to be attracted to people who are similar to them. So if two siblings who were raised apart meet without knowing they’re related, they do sometimes hook up. OTOH, siblings by marriage or adoption who are raised together from a young age generally feel just as much “ick” at the idea of a sexual/romantic relationship as birth siblings.
That would be half-siblings, not step-siblings. Apologies for the nit-pick.
I called it!
What do I win?
Do I get a trophy or something?
A handshake?
A pat on the back?
A “You did ok” from the author?
I love it when I am able to read characters and stuff and predict future events. Gives me a teeny tiny sense of power.
I also hate it when I predict shtuff cuz then I know what is going to happen. Feels sucky cuz I know exactly what is going to happen.
