Probably the difference between being the first time I drew her to now having drawn her several more times, all with slight tweaks a long the way.

Translation of Ruth’s growl, “Dear, I know you’re not endangering my plan to set our son up with a nice monster girl by allowing some human hussy into our home and Tim’s room.”
Also quick question, but why is Tim human instead of some hybrid?
Who said he’s human? Who said he’s a hybrid? Who is Tim? What planet is this? where am I?

Possibilities:
1) Ruth is actually his stepmother, not his biological mother. His biological mother was human, so he is too.
2) Tim is half-Noxian, but looks totally human for some reason.
3) Tim actually has Noxian features, but Ruth has been using her magic to hide them his entire life, so he doesn’t even know he has them.
#3 seems to be the answer at least based on what I’ve been able to gather.
Magic is involved in one way or another. Either he’s been turned human or he’s got a glamor cast on him. And honestly I’m fine that “a wizard did it” is the answer. All I ask is that it be treated properly and consistently.
In other words if there are other half noxian / half human hybrids running around out there that the explanation for them looking the way they do is again because of magic.
That does make some sense. For those who managed to track down the original story that would explain some of the events, and we did know Ruthless did have her magic book until she gave it to Shadow. If there needs to be some sort of spell/potion to keep Tim’s appearance up I’m sure she’d memorize it by now.
Also 1 is false due to the flashback from Shadow’s leader (I forget her name, the glowing white one), Tim mentioning his memories of his mother having a “lion costume” when he was a baby (which we know is Ruth’s true form), and some things from the original story.
Interesting theory. Quite plausible too. The complication here would be that at this point in the story, Shadow has known for years how to cast them. So she would probably also know how to see through them, or at least recognize some tells of one.
No, I saw the stories (remember very little now), I am assuming option 2. The magic is clearly not THAT strong, it would fade at some point if 3.
Note to curious about text version – by now, you aren’t missing much. The entire Halloween episode was one sentence. Unless he does some serious skipping, there is enough subject matter to last decades.

4) He was conceived while she was transformed via magic into a human guise and she stayed human thus he was born human thanks to magic.

Thomas comes off as far too desperate for new clients. The photography business doesn’t pay what it used to.
That fact makes his dialogue here about 95% less creepy.
