Gotta say man, judging from the responses you’ve definitely succeeded as a story teller in evoking feelings with your audience. Bravo. For me I’m digging everything. Its nice to see not everything has always been rainbows and unicorn sparkles.
Besides we know so far things turn out better, and there’s some form of meta plot occurring. I tip my hat off sir.
I wrote the following poem after reading this page. Not a very good poem, but at least it rhymes.
(Note that I started reading a week ago and read all there is in two days, so this was written a few days ago)
Well well well
What have we here
A comic I enjoy
the kind I find rare
A story which so far
has developed quite nicely
Though it looks as if things
are about to get dicey
Poor little shadow
now she does weep
Her feelings for Tim
are really quite deep

I know it’s been spoiled that they’re together in the end but that doesn’t mean the journey to it wasn’t gonna be hard.

At the risk of gaining the ire from most folks here, Marcy is totally blameless. Think about it, what is she really guilty of? Hitting on the one guy that’s been seemingly immune to the charms ANYONE? Even if she really is shallow, that’s a bit of mystery many girls can’t resist. Not to mention the possibility that, even if Tim doesn’t recognize it yet, he might have some real weapons-grade pheromone mojo going on thanks to his unique parentage. Granted, even if she knew he was spoken for, she might not care, but the point is she DOESN’T know.
At that moment, TIM doesn’t know that he’s been “taken”, either.
The take-home lesson?
Communicate.
Secondly, I do feel bad for Shadow, poor thing. It’s worse than just seeing her crush getting kissed by someone else. Marcy’s a HUMAN girl. You could tell she WANTED to tell Marcy off, but at that moment she couldn’t, and that invisible divide of two worlds between her and Tim must have felt very real. That is deep, lonely hurt.
Are we sure she’s human?
True, we dont know that for sure. But to Shadow’s view, that’s what’s happening right now.
