#172 “Intervention”
Looks like Tim’s about to have one heck of a day… and Ruth does NOT seem very thrilled about coming clean. Yeesh.
Looks like Tim’s about to have one heck of a day… and Ruth does NOT seem very thrilled about coming clean. Yeesh.
I always forget how nice Ruth’s tits are, in any of her forms.
Well no shit she does plus Thomas Newton ( Tim’s dad ) he is so lucky to have a girl like look at her she’s like a model she’s kinda like she’ll make every man want her even like she is so good looking that she’ll turn heterosexual females into lesbians for her & homosexual men will turn into straight men for her (no homophobic) and that includes moonlight ( lil sister ) like when I come up with that about Ruth aka lady ❤ & moonlight it kinda crack my shit up 😂😂😂😂😂
Ruth is ALWAYS awesome, no matter her scene…i think its part of her contract with Brandon….>_>
Oh, snap! Methinks shadow will be getting a little visit from mommy tomorrow in her world!
She said I will talk to him tomorrow not her.
I think she is projecting here since he just said that a relationship between him and shadow, and by extension her and Tom, is unacceptable. But she only has herself to blame for not telling him the truth before now.
Ruth might have a wee talk with both Tim and Shadow.
This just leaves the question of “When did they find out?”
Ruth has known pretty much since the beginning. Ruthless told her to take care of that boy.
her being Shadow
Probably the day he took Shadow’s picture.
Well I think that they had sex while Tim walked Marcy home and they fall asleep when Tim got home and while that misunderstanding moment happen and then goes the argument well maybe shadow & Tim’s argument go on for long enough to wake them up or something like that like that maybe possible that might how they found out but Ruth knows what is Tim arguing with but maybe not Thomas (Tim’s dad) well because he does not get the story but Ruth knows shadow more than her husband because that is her lil sisters adoptive daughter and she did help her out on Halloween one time
Everyone is assuming Tim is half-Nox. He may not be.
Not at all.
IIRC Tims dad is divorced or widowed. Tim is his son, but Lady Blackhearts son-in-law.
Memories not 100% positive, but that has been the pretense of how I continue to read the story.
I don’t know. Sure Tim has a lot of his dad’s feature, but he has the same color eyes as Ruth’s human form. There might be something there.
Well if Ruth isn’t his actual mom, then who is? And how come we haven’t heard from her ever?
I have no clue where you’re getting this from: All evidence points to Ruth being Tim’s mom.
It was bioin the story this is adapting.
Not to mention Tim calls Ruth mom.
Well, I went back and binge read, hunting for why I felt that way. I found nothing, so as this point I guess it was an assumption. BTW calling your mother-in-law ‘mom’ is really not unusual when there was never a real ‘mom’ in your life.
sounds like someone didnt read the original materials. (Ruth IS Tim’s mom, Duh) and there is a REASON why Shadow is so into Tim’s Scent…..she literally cant help it….
and i say that ‘the source material’ Brandon has already said that outside of a few differences, the Core elements of the original version of the story and the comic version are the same (Such as Tim’s parents are his Biological Parents and that Ruth and his dad’s relationship is what made Ruthless BlackHeart leave Nox and what Mother Moonlight is so afraid of when she says that Shadow is Emulating her…)
Finally, if you HAVENT read the source material yet, you really SHOULD. both can be thought of as seperate continuities, but it gives you a sense of the ideas that the comic is working on, as well as some amazing character plot points that (as Brandon has ALSO stated with the once a week updates) that might not appear untill YEARS from now, and there is also backstory that has been removed as not really moving the story forward – but is still part of the established continuity.
You got a link to the source story? My google-fu has failed me.
One reason why people SHOULD read the original is that, since Brandon has ALREADY stated that he will change things and HAS already changed things, it’s no longer even spoilers but lore and anticipation of what will and won’t happen – and how. So there.
and one reason they SHOULDN’T is because large swaths of it generally play out the same, despite getting there via a modified route. The plot beats are essentially the same.
Kinda. I’m sure all you original story readers will be quite perplexed before the end of the chapter. MWAHAHAA!
TheGeek, your fu sure has to be weak (read that in Yuen Siu-tien’s voice)*, because googling “The monster under the bed original story” yields the result in the first page 😉 and even near the top of it.
*the actor who played Jackie Chan’s eponymous “Drunken Master”
Oh, Google, HOW VERY FUNNY OF YOU!.
Err, I mean… Do *NOT* search that line WITH quotes, or you’ll get a single result – THIS page.
Brandon, if you read again, kindly notice I said (even if with different words – key word being “anticipation”) that having that previous knowledge and eagerly reading to see WHAT and WHEN and HOW you change things is actually far more amusing than just reading either thing alone. This applies, in fact, to every single remake or retelling ever made(*). You surely don’t think people shouldn’t read superheroes comics just because there’s a movie of them, right? 😉
Also, you sell your own writting skills very short. Trust me. I used to work in the publishing industry. And you’re better than many who selll their crap for actual money. Main reason to read your originals is that they are GOOD.
(*: unless the remake just sucks because the remaker had objectively worse skill than the original: this plainly not being the case, as they are the same person!!!).
What you need to do is come up with a really crazy theory and state it like fact, like Lady Blackheart is Tims mother. I think last time I did that, the author got exasperated with how crazy the theory was.
Obviously you haven’t been paying attention because it’s pretty clear that Ruth a.k.a. Ruthless a.k.a Lady Blackheart IS Tim’s mother.
I believe the magic that made it possible for the two species to breed also took the form they were both in at the time. So Tim is human with a Noxian mother.
Mom to the rescue! \o/
From Taiwan
Great story rhythm
Looking forward to weekly updates
i knew it saw that coming mom gonna step in handle them get them fall in love
Sooooo…. at what point are they going to tell them that they’re cousins?
They’re not. And that’s because they’re not cousins.
The High Mother Moonlight, or whatever her name is, is not Shadow’s actual mother. She was instead left on her doorstep. She does however seem to be the daughter of Lord Mortis and somebody we haven’t met.
I think that she might be Lord Mortis’s granddaughter, but not certain.
There seems to be no way to erase an ill thought comment. I think that you are right.
I’m on board here, as Mortis is clearly shaken when Shadow is mentioned. I also suspect Ruth to be Shadows mother, as Pg 95 shows her as possibly pregnant.
I do however still believe Tim is Human, and of a previous marriage before Ruth. (no proof)
No proof, except I keep telling you guys that Tim’s parents really are Ruth and Thomas and nobody seems to believe me.
Shadow’s heritage is up for debate, but she is definitely not a blood relative of any of the Newtons. 😀
Apologies Brandon, accusations of disbelief was not intended. I have only read your current works here, and could not see where it was stated as such.
As I follow maybe 20 online works, I seldom take time to read through hundreds of posts per page released, instead I try to immerse myself in the story as drawn.
I have many other suspicions to characters in your tale, but reading thousands of posts to see if you addressed them is not practical. Ah well…
Peace!
I believe you; I mean, come on! Shadow and Tim’s mom may be the same species or being or whatever you prefer to call them, but even I can see that shadow and her aren’t, related their features and their dialect are totally different, so I’m with Brandon on this.
We all really know who is the hero’s father…
Darth Vader, obviously 😉
Typical parent reaction to hearing their son discover his genetic background isn’t actually what he assumed it to be during an argument with his demonic girlfriend that had alterior motives for her arrival tonight only to find the son is kind of prudish and didn’t jump into bed with her sexy tail at the first sign of a loose babydoll nightgown. Or am I reading too much into this?
It’d be a cool plot twist if the *father* was a monster in disguise. 😛
Sounds like the 3rd WW is coming from the comment section…🤣 no, seriously the story is great.
Well I still believe that Tim and shadow are not flesh and blood related besides you know I am on you’re side for this
I feel that a lot of people are getting distracted and not asking the right questions. “Is Shadow related to the Newtons?” and “is Marcy from Nox?” seems pretty insignificant compared to the real questions like: what’s behind the big fucking door on page 136? How does Tim work?(biologically speaking) How does magic work? And what magic is Ruth using to keep here tits so nice? Wake up people!
I know some questions like that are bullshit like Jesus Christ man they should have read this comic all the way to the very beginning of this comic like until they get it right about the plot of this comic
Like from the front to back
Brandon are you ever going to change the vote picture.
Eventually, I’m sure.
Oh boy this is going to turn sour real fast
Ummm… you mean sour… right?
(not correcting, just suggesting)
