Also … holes in the cloaks don’t make any sense. You would think that their clothing design would have a split mid way down. This is really bugging me. You would think that a race of people that evolved with Tails would do something about that. “Time to slip my tail in a tiny hole while getting dressed.. yay…” 😔

I don’t think that would be that big of an issue seeing how much control they have over their tail. After all arms and legs work just fine…
Velcro would work — slit while dressing, velcro to shrink the hole / slit.
It’s just a cartoon, I’m not drawing every small detail or else it’d take even longer to pump out a page. Notice they don’t have buttons or zippers or anything else ever either. (except in rare cases)
If it were REAL LIFE, They would have some sort of rear zipper or button situation built into their clothes. In fact, that’s exactly how I picture the mechanism in my head.
The big thing as well is even if they had something to zip/velcro/reclose after setting their tail, that all has to be undone when they have to go to the bathroom. Just think of people who cosplay in complicated or even skin-tight suits. Their march to the bathroom at a con is probably a hell march, especially if there’s a line. Actually, is there a bathroom reserved for cosplayers at cons?
as someone that has cosplayed at cons, for general cosplayers no, for famous/semi-famous ones within the community they sometimes get a dressing room on a seperate floor, that floor sometimes has a toilet.
Lord Mortis is Shadow’s father, isn’t he? The violent outburst against Terminus, the curiosity when he was in bed with Lady Moonlight, the concern today. He’s a bit too interested about Shadow’s well-being for them to be total strangers. Maybe an uncle caring for his niece, but a father/daughter relationship seems more likely IMHO

Which begs the question who is Shadow’s mother? I have my own ideas but I await a bit more development
As far as I can recall we’ve only seen 3 women old enough to be Shadow’s mother. Ruth, Moonlight and Mrs. Dobbs. The first would push the story into some taboo subjects. The latter seems made for one joke. That leaves only Moonlight who call Shadow “her darkest angel”.
That said, we know far too little about Noxian biology, society and magic.
Mortis is awfully protective and a tad intrusive…a relative perhaps?

Hey Brandon so I just read the tv tropes “analysis” on this and there was an original story that you made that predates this comic? If so can I have a copy?
It’s already out there if you Google hard enough and want to ruin the (very general) plot progression for yourself.

There are two stories. Note that they are not identical, and that the web comic is much more detailed. Example, the Halloween story was basically one sentence, and Marcy is not mentioned at all.
There are some differences, but they are minor, eg what happened to the photo taken at the very start.
Hint – he uses another name – not Brandon.

Except we’ve seen almost that exact hood and diagonal eye pattern with Ruthless before, the shadow on the wall has Ruths hair style, and thats awfully quick for Nightmare to grab a cloak.
I’m less certain on the eye color but that doesnt look like NMs color…
She’s already wearing her cloak… it’s part of her new design, which is somewhat similar to Blackheart’s design.
I was thinking maybe it was Ruth coming to talk to Shadow; given the yellow eye, and the hood.
most female Noxians seem to have yellow eyes in varying shades from what we’ve seen so far. the males we’ve seen so far seem to have eye colours the same as their skin but in a different shade.
