Do we fully know what all those would be? Cause other than looking moster-like, sensing fear in humans (the whole human smell thing), and being able to use magic (hasn’t been determined if humans can do the same in this universe) there doesn’t seem to be much difference between humans and noxians. The “glamour” trick is a magical illusion, traveling between the two realms is somehow controlled by the items that make up their belts, so just what else is unique about noxians? Time for some world building.
What do you consider Noxian abilities? Other than the advantages their tails and claws can give them, we havent really seen them do anything humans cant.
There are two possible exceptions here, one being magic from that book, the other being the aegis. If (and nothing has happened on screen to suggest this) either of them require Nox blood, he might pass that requirement. We know Ruth gave her the book, perhaps it was she who warned Shadow not to let him read it. Only Brandon knows if the book is in english, or translates itself to the reader or whatever, so we dont know if he can read it. Likewise we dont know how the aegis works. Are they keyed to a user? Is there a button to press to slip through a portal? Or does merely holding one let you through? Did Ruth have to hack hers to get into the back ways she knows about?
If I’m not mistaken, Nightmare’s tail is a spear head. Shadow’s tail, depicted here, is a spade. We’ve been given a word of god answer that Shadow and Ruth are not near relatives.
Well you might be right about it like I think that they are related because Ruth’s sister ( Moonlight ) have the same tail looks & nightmare is also Moonlight’s daughter & Ruth’s Niece & probably the oldest one I think
Moonlight considers all under her command, her children… but it’s more like how a babysitter might think of them as “Her kids” and not necessarily her daughters.
Nightmare’s tail has a distinct curve towards the tip, not unlike a dagger.
Ruthless has a straight-up diamond-shaped tip, as does her sister Moonlight.
What’s funny is that Shadow is obviously not going to follow that rule. She may even become even more determined to completely neglect underwear and keep on being 100% commando for the rest of her life. It’ll be great if Ruth comments on it with, “well that backfired.” I also see it happening because Shadow’s outcome is supposed to be better than Ruthless’s outcome. The absence of panties may symbolize something big for Shdow; Shadow doesn’t have to confine herself of restricting her life, culture, and her true form to have the person she loves. This may not be what you are intentioning writing but I do like to see the meaning in clothing or the lack of it. The absence of clothing may symbolize freedom as the privates, which alone is often represented in symbolism to tie in with characters, will be not confined to tight spaces, free to show itself off. While the opposite can imply that the clothing is a way for them to hide themselves, exposing the secretive nature of characters, like Ruthless for example.
As a general rule in European cultures for about 5 centuries from around 1400, women did not wear lower undergarments, Partly from fashion and convenience – those long and bulky skirts were a nuisance, but the medical profession of the day advised against because it “inflamed the parts”.
A large part of the cause was the anti-sex prejudice of their religion which ad established itself as a major social control and still persists in some cultures.
I will not lie when I say this, panties drastically increase the likelihood of producing mold in that spot and other nasty conditions as well. People never mention this for some reason.
You know how pork is forbidden in religions like Islam and Jewism? It was created to preserve the health of citizens. Christianity, despite what people believed, had looked into science to understand the world God created. It’s likely that the medic reports were common among Europe or were reported to priest, influencing Christianity to forbid pants for women.
I literally made a romance story between an immortal monster princess, basically a demon, and a reincarnated Jesus. I don’t think you can top that, Brandon.
If I’m going to make some predictions… Long ago, the Nox were mistaken as demons and Christains considered their abilities as dark magic or witchcraft. Thus, humans killed any Nox they found and they also killed any humans that were close to a Nox or even developed feelings for one. Hence the Nox’s taboo on human contact and relationships.
“Finer points of underwear”, huh? Here’s Midnight playing the long game, teaching young Shadow about lingerie so she knows her son gets seduced by a nice Nox girl.
It’s more like, “Okay, so you’re going to be hanging around with my pubescent son… well, not without some underwear young lady! We can’t be having you skipping around going commando in those short, flouncy little nighties, now can we?”
In the future
Tim: Wow Shadow that’s some sexy underwear you have
Shadow: Thanks Tim your mom gave it to me she said it the kind that can easily be ripped off
Tim: …what ?
Ruth: Your welcome sweety, also I taught that girl a few other a things… thank me later
Tim: What ? Wait hang on what other things ?!!
Tom: oh you will wanna thank her after son, trust me
Tim: Dad what ?!!
Sort of out of the ordinary, but my parents had a painting JUST like the picture or painting in panel 1. It hung on the wall in our living room from the time I can first remember until they both passed.
So, Brandon’s addition to the canon opens the possibility of Shadow becoming pregnant to Tim. Ruthless better also include a discussion of contraception in the conversation with Shadow.
When is Ruth going to have that same, very important discussion with Tim?
Is this going to be left for Tom?
Is it perhaps part of the standard curriculum in Nox. so that Mother Moonlight already has the role of educator?
It’s becoming more urgent as the “kids” get more experimental .
Hmmmm. The rules are this= fertile offspring mean mother and father are the same species no matter the physical differences, as in wolves and dogs. Infertile offspring mean related species, as in horses and donkeys. So, humans are Noxians . . . whoa.
Hmmm…… That rather sounds to me like a diversionary tactic.
Diversion from what? I ask myself.
Answer: another MAJOR plot point that Brandon’s got hidden away in his author’s patented Bag of Tricks.
Duh! Being the son of a male human & a female Noxian obviously makes him a hybrid. The only question now is does he have any Noxian abilities.
Do we fully know what all those would be? Cause other than looking moster-like, sensing fear in humans (the whole human smell thing), and being able to use magic (hasn’t been determined if humans can do the same in this universe) there doesn’t seem to be much difference between humans and noxians. At least Shadow has some class. Now she gets to learn about some really sexy stuff.
Does anybody notice how simular Ruth’s and nightmares tales are? I find it very suspicious could they possibly be related? Well time will only tell.
I mean, one’s a spade… the other’s a diamond… but yeah, I guess they’re themed.
If I’m not mistaken, Nightmare’s tail is a spear head. Shadow’s tail, depicted here, is a spade. We’ve been given a word of god answer that Shadow and Ruth are not near relatives.

Shadow is just her favorite. XD
But are Nightmare and Midnight related?
Nightmare’s tail has a distinct curve towards the tip, not unlike a dagger.
Ruthless has a straight-up diamond-shaped tip, as does her sister Moonlight.
Oh sorry man
Plus I don’t want to disrespect you or anything and specially about Moonlight due the apart that she is my favorite
I would like to know what happens, but everything in its time
What a pleasure it gives me, it was worth the wait, I hope it never ends
I wonder what the “Finer points of underwear” means?
Anyways art style looks awesome!
Finer Points ” means a more complex or detailed part of a subject just letting you know dude
A fancy way of saying: “If you’re in this house, you’re going to be wearing underwear, kid.”
Lol I thought it was gonna be some deep meaning or something
What’s funny is that Shadow is obviously not going to follow that rule. I hope my post isn’t too weird or anything nsfw.

I… don’t really think this applies to anything we’re talking about here.
Hah, and I am curious how religious folks are going to react to some stuff I’m going to lay down in the comic later on down the road. XD
I literally made a romance story between an immortal monster princess, basically a demon, and a reincarnated Jesus. I don’t think you can top that, Brandon.

*Ruthless…I blame autocorrect….
Are you joking around or something i am just wondering if you know what I mean right Brandon
Like are you joking around with me or something
It’s more like, “Okay, so you’re going to be hanging around with my pubescent son… well, not without some underwear young lady! We can’t be having you skipping around going commando in those short, flouncy little nighties, now can we?”
Tim seething with testosterone is just pissed somewhere lol.
It’s not like Shadow has ever followed that demand.
In the future
Tim: Wow Shadow that’s some sexy underwear you have
Shadow: Thanks Tim your mom gave it to me she said it the kind that can easily be ripped off

imo underwear is overestimated
dang you Brandon teasing us with a conversation they had that we didn’t get to see
but hey at least it’s confirmed he’s a hybry
Short of adoption, it could hardly be avoided.
Underwear? No Ruth, save that lesson for later. Much later. Much much later.
after long two weeks finally. but it still best comic
Sort of out of the ordinary, but my parents had a painting JUST like the picture or painting in panel 1. It hung on the wall in our living room from the time I can first remember until they both passed.
My worries are:
What is Nightmare going to do with this information? How is Moonlight going to respond?
Or will she report it to the one she thinks she’s dating? How will he respond?
Huh was just watching a morning farm show about hybrids and crossbreeding.
The BIG question now is if Tim is kind that’s sterile or not?
How about I just say No, so we can stop talking about sterility. XD
So, Brandon’s addition to the canon opens the possibility of Shadow becoming pregnant to Tim. Ruthless better also include a discussion of contraception in the conversation with Shadow.

Whatever makes you guys stop talking about it. XD
Hmmm…… That rather sounds to me like a diversionary tactic.
Diversion from what? I ask myself.
Answer: another MAJOR plot point that Brandon’s got hidden away in his author’s patented Bag of Tricks.
Perhaps (or maybe something else).
Only if the diversion is I don’t care about any of that fertility stuff. XD
