Duh! Being the son of a male human & a female Noxian obviously makes him a hybrid. The only question now is does he have any Noxian abilities.
Do we fully know what all those would be? Cause other than looking moster-like, sensing fear in humans (the whole human smell thing), and being able to use magic (hasn’t been determined if humans can do the same in this universe) there doesn’t seem to be much difference between humans and noxians. The “glamour” trick is a magical illusion, traveling between the two realms is somehow controlled by the items that make up their belts, so just what else is unique about noxians? Time for some world building.
What do you consider Noxian abilities? Other than the advantages their tails and claws can give them, we havent really seen them do anything humans cant.
There are two possible exceptions here, one being magic from that book, the other being the aegis. If (and nothing has happened on screen to suggest this) either of them require Nox blood, he might pass that requirement. We know Ruth gave her the book, perhaps it was she who warned Shadow not to let him read it. Only Brandon knows if the book is in english, or translates itself to the reader or whatever, so we dont know if he can read it. Likewise we dont know how the aegis works. Are they keyed to a user? Is there a button to press to slip through a portal? Or does merely holding one let you through? Did Ruth have to hack hers to get into the back ways she knows about?
At least Shadow has some class. Now she gets to learn about some really sexy stuff.
Does anybody notice how simular Ruth’s and nightmares tales are? I find it very suspicious could they possibly be related? Well time will only tell.
I mean, one’s a spade… the other’s a diamond… but yeah, I guess they’re themed.
If I’m not mistaken, Nightmare’s tail is a spear head. Shadow’s tail, depicted here, is a spade. We’ve been given a word of god answer that Shadow and Ruth are not near relatives.
Well you might be right about it like I think that they are related because Ruth’s sister ( Moonlight ) have the same tail looks & nightmare is also Moonlight’s daughter & Ruth’s Niece & probably the oldest one I think
Moonlight considers all under her command, her children… but it’s more like how a babysitter might think of them as “Her kids” and not necessarily her daughters.
Shadow is just her favorite. XD
But are Nightmare and Midnight related?
Nightmare’s tail has a distinct curve towards the tip, not unlike a dagger.
Ruthless has a straight-up diamond-shaped tip, as does her sister Moonlight.

What’s funny is that Shadow is obviously not going to follow that rule. She may even become even more determined to completely neglect underwear and keep on being 100% commando for the rest of her life. It’ll be great if Ruth comments on it with, “well that backfired.” I also see it happening because Shadow’s outcome is supposed to be better than Ruthless’s outcome. The absence of panties may symbolize something big for Shdow; Shadow doesn’t have to confine herself of restricting her life, culture, and her true form to have the person she loves. This may not be what you are intentioning writing but I do like to see the meaning in clothing or the lack of it. The absence of clothing may symbolize freedom as the privates, which alone is often represented in symbolism to tie in with characters, will be not confined to tight spaces, free to show itself off. While the opposite can imply that the clothing is a way for them to hide themselves, exposing the secretive nature of characters, like Ruthless for example.

As a general rule in European cultures for about 5 centuries from around 1400, women did not wear lower undergarments, Partly from fashion and convenience – those long and bulky skirts were a nuisance, but the medical profession of the day advised against because it “inflamed the parts”.

I literally made a romance story between an immortal monster princess, basically a demon, and a reincarnated Jesus. I don’t think you can top that, Brandon.
If I’m going to make some predictions… Long ago, the Nox were mistaken as demons and Christains considered their abilities as dark magic or witchcraft. Thus, humans killed any Nox they found and they also killed any humans that were close to a Nox or even developed feelings for one. Hence the Nox’s taboo on human contact and relationships.
“Finer points of underwear”, huh? Here’s Midnight playing the long game, teaching young Shadow about lingerie so she knows her son gets seduced by a nice Nox girl.

So, Brandon’s addition to the canon opens the possibility of Shadow becoming pregnant to Tim. Ruthless better also include a discussion of contraception in the conversation with Shadow.
When is Ruth going to have that same, very important discussion with Tim?

Hmmmm. The rules are this= fertile offspring mean mother and father are the same species no matter the physical differences, as in wolves and dogs. Infertile offspring mean related species, as in horses and donkeys. So, humans are Noxians . . . whoa.
