I would love to see Tim’s parents along with Shadow annoncing to Tim that he is an hybrid and because of that, he may assume both Human and Noxian looks as his mother may…
Well it seems Shadow doesn’t have to spill the marbles for Tim to find out. It seems like everyone else is going to know about it before he gets to. Feels bad man.
You’re sitting down while someone taller and stronger(?) is standing behind you resting their claws on your shoulders. Then you’re asked for a promise by that someone.
Does anyone else find these circumstances intimadating?
Tatsurou: would be correct,, furries are hybrid animals (including fantasy,, dragon, unicorn..) where as..
Xenophiles are other Races outside our own,, IE: Star Trek Klingon, Star Wars Twilek, Avatar Na’Vi..ect..
tho species is kinda incorrect.. Cougar is a species with mountain lion / panther being a sub group..
and Xenophile, an individual who is attracted to foreign peoples, manners, or cultures.
Posted elsewhere, but I’ll repeat it= as I understand it, fertile offspring mean the parents are the same species no matter the physical differences. Infertile offspring mean the parents are related species. As Brandon has stated Tim is not sterile, then humans and Noxians are the same species . . . . . . thaaaaat’s gonna leave a mark.
But Brandon has definitely stated that he doesn’t want to discuss Human-Nox fertility and that he doesn’t want us to discuss it further.
Now, this could indicate that Shadow’s pregnancy is NOT going to be a plot point OR that his native Canadian reticence ha kicked in to a level of self-censorship with which he’s comfortable.
Either way, it opens the possibility that (with pregnancy off the table (so to speak)) Tim can establish a whole harem of willing Nox girls, once he learns how to use his aegis to travel to Nox.
You guys can discuss it all you want, but you’re just wasting your time on something that doesn’t really matter to the story, in my opinion… because it is a moot point.
Yeah but that’s kinda the whole point of having the ability to post, to communicate our individual, personal wishes, kinks, fetishes if you like to an audience who understands the basic premises on which we build our ideas.
There’s also the hope that some of our thoughts might suggest to Our Author a direction in which he might take a story. Maybe not this one which has already been plotted out, but Princess Heart and Diamond – no idea YET!
man i read nearly every one of piers anthonies books back in high school, still own a large number of em but havent read em in yrs, might take em back up, since wheel of time is now finished i believe and im waiting on book 11 of the mercy thompson series (if u havent heard of it check it out, modern day fantasy with werewolves, fae, vampires and native american shapeshifters (main charr mercy is a coyote shapeshifter, essentially the daughter of the native american spirit warrior coyote), interesting take on the werewolf and vampire genre)
My first fathers day without my father and I’m at work today. Thanks for the page Brandon, thisis probably the only good thing thats come out of today.
Feels good to finally officially have another theory (first was Lady Blackheart and Ruth being one, second was Shadow knew about Tim being mixed before Tim did) I hinted at over three years ago confirmed.
Here’s a couple more:
*Tim’s Noxian abilities were sealed by his mother.
*His natural fear of female humans is directly related to that seal.
*Noxians grow more feral as the sense fear.
*There are other “Hybrids” out there.
*Tim’s dad is a hybrid, hence why he and Tim share the same smell.
*Hybrids are forbidden in Noxia, even though some have been controlling things quietly from the shadows.
*Lady Blackheart was a Vice Admiral in the Noxian hierarchy, where she earned the nickname Ruthless. So her fighting and strategic skills are legendary
*Lady Blackheart has precognition, something other Noxians do not possess, or at least not at her level. (Moonie has some)
*Tim and Midnight will at some point have to work together to save Shadow, forming an actually friendship in the process.
He has 2/9 assumptions correct. At least, it is not so bad.
Instead of Vice Admiral, I would have said that she works as a spy, completely undercover in Human form and Lady Blackheart was, initially, the name she was given as a spy name not her real name but considering she needed a Human name, she still is known as such in Noxia.
Ruthless was asked from her sister to take care of Shadow and will teach her, as some point, how to become a full spy in the Human Realm for Noxia as she is. The fact that Shadow and Tim are clearly destined to become lovers is an additional perks Ruthless finds interesting and useful.
@Brandon: with reading the back (old) stories (waist wings).. i wood say i know which 2.. BUT, since that is no longer cannon ,, i will say more than likely those 2.. 🙂
#2 was obviously wrong because Tim’s dad had the same thing happen to him when he met Ruthless. And he was fully human.
#3 the opposite happens, as Tim’s mom and Shadow grow attachment to the person full of fear.
#5 No way. One of the dad’s parents would’ve been shown in the story, doing suspicious stuff. They would be in Tim’s life more if that was the case. As they would be concerned with Tim’s life and the secret they were hiding from thr Nox and humanity. Plus, this would heavily decrease the chances of Tim appearing human.
#7 They never ever associated their names with ranks or titles. That would brought that up by now. Noxians naturally named their children after any darkness-related themes, like moons, fear, or anything threatening. They are nocturnal people that feed on fear.
#8 She didn’t have anything that made her special or powerful until she met Tim’s dad. She got so much fear straight from him, from his love for her. Because other Noxians didn’t have this, they had way less fear to feed off from their human targets.
So 1, 4, 6, and 9 make the most sense so far? I agree as well. But Brandon said only two of them are correct, so you would have to knock out two of the last four.
#1 is definitely wrong because Noxians inherently don’t have power unless they are given the knowledge. So Ruthless doesn’t have to seal his powers, only prevent his knowledge of them.
#9 is most likely incorrect since Midnight has not shown any desire to befriend Tim nor does older Tim refer to her as a friend. Plus, the story is framing Tim as a special and unique being, making him likely to take the damsel role instead.
The likely:
#4 Rules defiantly do not prevent everything as we we know that that Tim and Shadow aren’t a special and impossible case due to Tim’s parents and the case involving the human girl and nox guy. It’s frankly ridiculous to say that other hybrids aren’t out there. Heck, it’s likely that one of the noxian people in Nox (that we have seen so far) is a hybrid.
#6 I can see this happening as the author confirms that a hybrid can either have a human appearance or a Noxian appearance. Siblings likely happen and they can vary in appearances, meaning that they can theoretically share each other’s perspectives of the world and take advantage of it. Hybrids with human appearances can likely be responsible for marking the coordinates of houses and might even smell the targets with the best fear potential. They can abuse this to make a fear monopoly that only they can take full advantage of, giving them a lot of power in the Noxian world.
They likely discouraged lower class Noxians their privileges of interacting with humans out of fear, as mankind likely had treated Noxians badly for being “demons” and burned up warlocks/witches that were just people that interacted with the Noxians. I mentioned this because that’s how the religious folk acted back then (and possibly in this story’s present). What lead me to this was how the author comment about how he wondered how the people would react to his portrayal of religion. Nevertheless, it sounded extremely relevant to this story and he definitely implied it was portrayed negatively. The story here was also loosely based on real world events.
So Midnight knows he’s a hybrid. That’s a nox+human child. But does she currently know that Ruth IS his mother?
You almost had me doubting that Tim was hybrid haha. Now we need to see how Ruth and Tim’s father met and better yet how Tim was conceived.
I would love to see Tim’s parents along with Shadow annoncing to Tim that he is an hybrid and because of that, he may assume both Human and Noxian looks as his mother may…
Yeah. If she’s gonna hang out in the upper world, it’s high time she learned something about underwear.
Happy Fathers Day.!

i think that was the point.
I’m just glad shadow isn’t mad at Tim. This is the best love story I’ve ever read. Keep up the great work Brandon!
As long as I don’t hear ‘I’ am your FATHER LUKE’!!
Wait… are we all furries for reading this comic… or noxies?!? Shadow does turn me on…
The Noxians don’t seem to have a very appreciable amount of fur on them.
That said, labels are only worth what they’re useful for.
The correct term is “Xenophiles”, being attracted to sapient and sentient members of species other than your own.
Tatsurou: would be correct,, furries are hybrid animals (including fantasy,, dragon, unicorn..) where as..

He’s a TEENAGED BOY!
Of course he would.

Amazing page. I feel this is a big step. That last panel feels sharp. 5/5 secrets and 5/5 mills. That frame in the background is hilarious.
Ment to type “5/5 Victoria’s Secrets”. That’s a good thing.
Noooo! Not underwear! The Xanth books tried to warn us!
Hurray! I’m not the only one who reads that series! Let’s just hope being a hybrid makes Tim immune to eye glaze.

Now comes the other important part: The finer points of underwear arc.
Shadow seemed a little hesitant making that promise.

2/9. Haha, I’m not confirming which ones though.

Not bad, I can actually imagine the first chapter from the fanfic this is destined to be written into. 🤣
Can’t wait to see which ones they are!!!!!!
@Brandon: with reading the back (old) stories (waist wings).. i wood say i know which 2.. BUT, since that is no longer cannon ,, i will say more than likely those 2.. 🙂
Those wings made good hugs…
Also, I’ve narrowed the 9 theories down to 3 from my memory of the original story, but I can’t quite figure out which of those 3 is incorrect….
im goin with options 1 and 2 for the future revelations, make the most sense really for the story
#2 was obviously wrong because Tim’s dad had the same thing happen to him when he met Ruthless. And he was fully human.
