I never thought I would see a side to nightmare that felt kind and serene and I quite like it. I used to dislike her attitude toward shadow (still do, hope by the end they could just be friends) and such but seeing as she can show a side like this makes me think again about how I feel about her. I hope she can become a nicer person to others as time goes on. Bet it will take something drastic to happen to change that tune though.
It’s all an act.
She wants “a relationship” with Terminus (wormy Termy) so she’s trying hard to be what she thinks he wants. Of course, he doesn’t want that, just what he can use her for.
When Nightmare realises that, she will unleash her basic personality which hasn’t changed from the snide viciousness she displayed earlier. With her stealth & assassins training she’s got from Wormy and her natural proclivities, I predict a full revenge, prolonged torture and eventual painful death for Termy.
Brandon may not illustrate that for us, not in the detail that a villain’s comeuppance truly merits.
She does have friends you know, so she isn’t that bad. Her issues with Shadow seem to be that of an older sibling trying to outdo her younger sister who is getting attention from their parents.

Eck, I know she’s been a bit of a bitch when she was introduced, but seeing how she’s one in a supposed long line of others, I only see self destruction and insanity in the end for her.

I mean, the first thing we ever got at her intro was always being the best, joining this cunt in the pursuit of power to be it, then seeing her either being manipulative herself or legitimately being caring to this ass.

Nightmare has a beautiful smile. It’s wasted on Termite. She still resents Shadow for some reason (possibly because Shadow got more affection from Moonlight than most of the other bedbugs and Nightie’s the type to hold a grudge for years), but there should be more to her than that.
Granted, these two could have been a match made someplace a little hotter than heaven, but it’s clear that while she cares for him he doesn’t care at all for her and is only using her, and making excuses when she suspects it (as she did when they found the doors). Is she as sociopathic as he is? I don’t think so.
A possible silver lining to all this is Marcy might find out Tim didn’t leave his scissors in her room . . . . . of course, she’ll also find out about Noxians . . . .
What’s the process you envisage?
To me, either Wormy or Nightmare (not going to call her Nightie) or both, would need to go to Marcy’s bedroom and get caught, thereby breaking open the whole Secret of Nox (it really exists!), then cam down Marcy’s hysterics long enough to explain that somebody else left the scissors. I don’t see that working.

There’s some fan-art potential in that idea. Nightmare done as a MLP:FIM pony. Straight pony, unicorn, or pegasus? (I don’t see her as a unipeg/alicorn type; that’s Moonlight, Ruthless, and Mortis…)
Wasn’t necessarily thinking mo, but probably regular for that.

The sisters will accept their relationship (MidNIGHT and NIGHTmare), form an alliance with Anna and Ruth (and maybe Marcy) and form a collective of mutual support.
The main conflict will be in deciding which wilderness to establish residency and whether to arm themselves and set up a revenge team to take out Terminus, anybody who supported him and ANYBODY ELSE THEY DAMN WELL WANT TO!
