IDK, maybe he was planning the murder this whole time, and now has a huge man crush on Terminus for having done all the work for him.
It can be difficult to see with darker skin tones, and it can take a few moments to go from zero to seeing blood angry.
That said, I think the same mechanism is used for blushing, getting red-faced drunk, and red-faced angry, and any of them can stop at any point along the continuum. It’s less common to be embarrassed to the point of seeing red (although I’ve been there a few times), and less common to only have a slight redness from anger (but I’ve seen that a few times). But not everyone gets even slightly red-faced when they’re angry, and different people who do can do so to differing degrees.
