Emerson, Lake, and Palmer (usually called ELP) were a fairly recent prog-rock group (1970-2016) according to Uncle Google. At least three of their album covers show a manticore – “Tarkus” (1971), “The Return of the Manticore” (1993), and “A Time and A Place” (2010). (One of the labels they were signed to during their run was Manticore Records.)
According to Auntie Wiki, they had their break-ups and reformations during their run (like most groups seem to do), but with the deaths of two of the founding members in 2016, they are pretty much no more.
We still haven’t seen anything that paints her as anything but a nice girl, other than possibly one of her friends.

Oh no, really hope Marcy doesn’t become a bad character. Also has Craig done anything to Tim since that Halloween years back? If not then don’t think he really qualifies as a bad guy currently.
People’s personalties are fixed at about age 8-10.
Craig’s personality won’t have changed much by the late teens & he’s going to grow into a low-level line manager, still bullying as an adult, by age 25-30.

I’ve seen people drastically change their personalities even in their 30s. That generally requires them to decide to actually change their personalities, and most of the time people don’t. Most people prefer to hate others rather than to admit they have problems, but some people do still admit they have problems and look into making a change to correct some or all of those. Other times, people can be influenced by a relatively new acquaintance into becoming a different person. (I say relatively new, because generally speaking, if somebody you’ve known for a long time asks for a personality change, most people will dismiss it.) And still other times, losing the love of ones life can cause one to change ones personality.
There are also times when people change their personalities for the worse. People who gain and become comfortable with affluence will tend to change. More seasoned politicians tend to become more corrupt (although this can fall under the category of changes requested by new acquaintances.) People who become addicted to drugs (regardless of whether they’re legal or not) will tend to change.
Yeah, that’s not true. It’s just negative thinking. People can and have changed.
Not being a bully because you’re scared doesn’t make you a good person. And if he hasn’t bullied Tim, that doesn’t mean that he’s not bullied anyone.

He’s clearly been spreading stories around though, if she is going to Craig for confirmation. He has probably said Tim is a freak or whatever else. Not physically assaulting him doesn’t mean the bullying has stopped.
That would break the terms of her threat. I believe that she said that she would make him disappear if she heard his name again.

Light blonde and light blue eyes on marcy…Darker blonde and dark blue-y eyes on Craig…Brother and Sister perhaps? Would give some reasoning to why he ‘warned’ her unless she dated him sometime between the two points.
I can think of several explanations, some paint her as an innocent, some as not. No way to tell at this time.
Well, in Strip #159, Tim’s mate Spencer Dobbs said about Marcy that she “… must have run out of dumb jocks or something.”
Maybe Craig is one of those ‘dumb jocks’…

Seriously? You introduced us to Spencer’s mother in Strip #160, and Tim explicitly called her Mrs Dobbs.

Most high school mascot names have been morphed in some derogatory manner like this by their rivals. I’m sure that this is what any of their school’s rivals will jeer during games.
There are a number of schools whose mascots don’t really lend themselves to that, so their rivals come up with something unrelated to jeer at them.
And then there’s schools like the one I went to, whose rivals can’t find a better jeer than the actual name of the mascot.

I gotta say, this is sounding more-&-more like Marcy only started approaching Tim in order to test the truth of Craig’s Halloween-story. Given how sudden her interest in Tim seems to have begun, & how aggressively she expressed her interest, I’m hard-pressed to see it as sincere affection.
Well what do you think her dreams of Tim are from then? Maybe sure that may have been how it started but clearly that isn’t all she thought of him about.
Actually, it seems to me that that wasn’t the case. I suspect that the story simply made her think of Tim more.
