When I saw on FB the outline preview, i was imagining something like : “Hello, this is the doctor you saw 1 week ago. I got your result test. Congratulations, you’re pregnant !”…..
Man, what a situation ! I didn’t see that coming. This is completly new compared to the original fiction.

They will, they will. It’s already been established that Tim and Shadow get ‘very comfortable’ with each other. In fact, Strip #29 shows the morning after a night when Shadow had a sleep-over with Tim. 🙂

Just wondering what year this is? We know that 5 years earlier was in the 90s. However mobile phones were not that common in late 90s/early 00s.
I don’t know about where you live but, I know that they were VERY common in the southeastern USA in the 90s.
It is some timeless grey area that could be “any time” after the 80’s.

It’s hard to judge age with web comic characters, anybody under 25 looks like a high schooler.
Her casual use of wine – not sneaking it – and “my day off” she is over 18, certainly under 30. There are ways to show that a character is 30, so 18-25 most likely.

She’s a similar age to Terminus. When she was introduced in page 141 we were told that Terminus was 17, and Anna 17 or 18. We’ve moved on a little since then, but we do know that Anna is trying to get a place at a university.
Yeah, she’s a twenty-something currently.
In the UK at least, mobile coverage was not that good until this century. In fact quite a few people didn’t get them until this century for that very reason. It may have been different in the US.
That’s seems to be the way things work. The US gets it first, but we make mistakes we are stuck with, everybody else corrects it. Eg 110v vs 220v, what type of cell phone – we have several incompatible types, rest of world has one type.

I just had a horrible thought – what if hybrid pregnancies are so demanding, human women can’t survive long enough to give birth? What if it only works the other way round?
I have been playing around with the notion of a Hybrid pregnancy taking longer to come to term, perhaps a month or so longer. *shrug* Not confirming anything one way or the other, just thinking ahead for the future. 😉

If the doctor’s interview starts with asking when her last period was, we can be pretty sure we are dealing with a pregnancy. Otherwise, when the doctor’s calls you to come in today, you have a serious problem.

Well, there is rarely reason to do blood test when simpler tests are just as reliable … however, they DO give results sooner than urine tests …
Apparently, a blood test will not only tell you that you are pregnant, but how far along you are. Rypperdoc (another poster) put up a list of quantitative HCG test results to illustrate this.

“Clementine” font. It’s some free font I downloaded off so e random website a couple years ago. Might not be able to even find it now. Who knows?
