Thats the last thing anyone needs is an annoying monster hunter to complicate matters.

Maybe the government is more aware of the Noxians then we thought
The government? or perhaps an entrepreneurial corporation which plans to sell Nox girls as some sort of “pets”?
A proper government wouldn’t do THAT would it?
I doubt it. A creature that looks scary and feeds on fear? i can see letters like:
“That thing gave our son nightmares and he refuses to go to sleep.
“You will compensate us or we will sue you for every penny you have…”
Oh Shit! OF COURSE the Government might know about the Noxians1 They are being quite subtle… in this approach but I do not doubt its only thinly veiled politeness… should she refuse to cooperate!!
She could slip Anna a bug and say that she’s free to go? Or leave a card and say that she’s free to call any time?
They’ve probably already put a trace on the location of her phone. Before phones had GPS, authorities could still track someone by using which towers it was connecting to.
Come to think about it, they may have bugged her apartment whilst she’s at this appointment?

(Muses) I don’t think Anna will do very well under questioning – thankfully Canadian authorities aren’t permitted to use “enhanced interrogation” techniques.
I don’t think you folks are seeing the big picture here.
Remember your real world blood types: A, B, AB, and O, with pH factors of positive and negative. That’s 8 total blood types. Anna apparently doesn’t fit those 8. It’s a standard trope that non- and half-humans have “special” or “rare” blood types. Now factor in that someone is interested in HER due to HER blood type.

How big is this half, you ask? Well that all depends on the size of the bunch it is attached to.
Half could be the title page for the next chapter. Those are barely pages!
Things are getting interesting, but something is bothering me, it doesn’t look exactly the same as the other devices that we have seen before. And I believe that Brandon did this by accident which would pose an interesting question. Where there humans or other creatures who come to the human world? Or is this just another monster in disguise and Anna is another hybrid?
Nevermind about it not being the same as what we seen, I checked again and it is a male one still the question stays.

When did Nightmare have time to go to medical school, or show any interest in humans? No, she’s been too preoccupied with Terminus.
In fact she is with him right now dealing with a certain dead body while this is going on,, you know?
I can think of one ugly source. A dead Noxian.
Or a captive one?
Quite possible, but it might not be quite so ugly. Nox has been around for god-knows-how-long. It could’ve been found in something like an archaeological site or some ancient reliquary.
I like that theory.
Or it could have been given willingly? Unlikely but possible.
They got to sometimes fall to accidental electrocution and smoke inhalation, at very least.
Which means Noxians probably have operatives tasked with retrieval (or failed that, destruction) of those bodies and keys, presumably using magical disguise.
As well as every secret society that has an idea of what goes on and how big a problem this portal network can become at any moment — if only out of self-preservation. Whether cooperating with the Noxians or not.
Doctor: “I want you to take a look at something for me…maybe you’ll recognize it?”
Anna: “Nope, can’t say I do. I’ve never, ever seen, let alone removed, something like that from the clothing of a boyfriend I TOTALLY DON’T HAVE with my hands or teeth. Nope…nope…nope.”
