The Adventure of Shadow’s Tooth is worthy of a sidebar story.
Probably wouldn’t be much different from the adventure of an average 10-13 year old losing one of their baby teeth.

It’s honestly sort of a waste of my time in this climate. I barely get any traffic from there, even at the best of times.
No matter how good I do, I inevitably get pushed down the list by comics that update multiple times a week and have way bigger audiences.
If it makes you feel better, you got me from there. But some of the stuff on that list is honestly not that great. I’ve tried, and I have about 5-7 comics that I vote for at least once a week trying to keep them up. (this being one of them)
I would suggest, Brandon, that if you updated those “gift” graphics (it’s possibly a good stage for your pin-ups of Shadow) then when word gets around you’d get more votes and climb the ratings ladder.
If you think that’s a worthwhile outcome?

if it helps, i use word of mouth in sharing your comic Brandon. Sure. MUTB may not be in the top 10, but its still holding its own on the list.
that said, though, do not ever feel as though you have to defend putting your day job ahead of the comic. maybe if we were all paying 20 bucks an update, and there were like 300 of us at a time paying that 20 bucks per, it would be different. At Six Grand an update, plus advertising, maybe yeah, maybe then you could do 3 strips a week and only then would it feel like yer slacking off off the comic. (it comes up about 80k a month…i dont even think Girl Genius gets that..)
we (at least those of us with a day job) know how it feels to want to work on something when you get home, only to not have the energy or the time. that you were doing this WEEKLY originally and the end result could have been Burnout? no thank you, id rather see you stay on the current schedule.
Maybe you need more fans to remind you that we’re here, we love the work, and appreciate the story you’re telling. even if we dont say it all the time…
Even if I was getting paid to do this multiple times a week, I wouldn’t do it. I’m slow at art and quite frankly if I go too fast I will get burned out extremely quickly. I need time to myself and between this and my day job. I have almost no time anymore for myself to just…. do anything else. I almost never get to play games any more… I have to work around my schedule just to see my friends! 😆
I honestly can’t remember if I found your comic through that site. I think so, however I know I have seen your comic bouncing up and down the lists. Frankly I wouldn’t worry about the ranking too much, I have noticed that many of the top ranked comics there aren’t particularly good in my opinion. Just being on the list and being visible for curious people to find is probably sufficient. That is what I use it for, I mine it for new comics, I don’t pay much attention to the ranking.

She has 4 in her normal form (3 fingers and a thumb), and 5 in her human disguise. (4 fingers and a thumb)
Must be weird getting an extra finger by donning a magic disguise.
Imagine if we were to magically transform into a humanoid creature and get a 6th finger on each hand.

Have you decided whether or not the disguise is tactile or not? Ie, does the 5th finger work, does the tail go away, or are both changes only illusion?
If we are going to call it magic, seems like the change being tactile would be a good option.
One of the characters in Zanth has 4 fingers, but 5 when she leaves Zanth. They used this as a touchstone on several occasions to detect the edge of the magic.
Of course it works. haha

Yoo I have been reading this comic for over a month now I read it 3 times it’s really good but I would like to have a clouser one time this absolutely great comic and I would love if u hire more people to help u so we can get the whole thing
Brandon works at his own pace, and the best way to respect an artist/author (and to get him/her to keep working) is to accept that pace, not to passive/aggressively suggest an increase in said pace. Said increase only benefits the reader, never the artist/author.

Oh, I fully realize that you, sir, are a dude of the male persuasion (old M*A*S*H reference), but when I was talking about ‘artists/authors’ and ‘him/her’ I wasn’t directly referencing you, but anyone in a similar position as yourself, creating works of artistry or fiction for the consumption of all who view/read it. (I have encountered other artists/authors who get seriously bent out of shape when people comment about how they wish that their works were published faster, but will allow the creator to work at the pace they do. The commenter probably means well, but really puts their foot in it.)

Why do i get the feeling marcy will become shadow’s best human girl friend. They start out as rivals and end up being close friends. Am I the only one thinking this?

Well i just binged this entire series in 30 mins. There’s nothing worse than catching up on something so good and having to waaiiiittt.
Thirty minutes!? It takes me almost two hours to re-read it and I made it! XD
That’s just 8 seconds per page. I’m sure there’s a lot you will have missed.

That’s sad to hear, but if it’s any consolation: You may have not the quantity, but you make it up with waaay more quality!
Yours is one of the most wholesome webcomics I’ve come across.
Also, two weeks (with the occassional break) isn’t even that lax of a schedule. Order of the Stick (awesome RPG-webcomic) sometimes takes up to a month to update, so you don’t have nothing to feel bad about!
Your pages are definitely worth the wait!
On the other hand, you have also Schlock mercenary, which released a strip a day, EVERY single day, for 20 years, without missing. a. single. one.

I went and looked this comic up. Simple art aside, the guy has at least 2 other people helping him out (with colouring and editing) and yeah, it’s been his day job since 2004. Of course he can pump out new pages every day.
Relax brandon, ignore what that guy said. You have so many fans that adore this comic

I am not fully sure what’s going on but I can 100% say that I love this comic with all of my heart and is in fact one of the few webcomics that I would quite legitimately want to make a OC for and would pay to support it (that is if I had the income to do it). You have so many fans and I don’t come here cause I have nothing else to do, I come here cause I want to learn more and immerse myself in the story. So I would say even if you did have fewer fans (which I don’t think is true) then they would at least be much more loyal fans who won’t vanish at the drop of a hat.
I am not the best at comforting or stuff like that so sorry if I didn’t help much here. Oh also your comic and others have made me also want to make my own comics though I still don’t think my art is anywhere good enough to do that.
I just love this comic, I’ve been following it for almost 2 years and every page just makes me anxious for the next one, its features have improved remarkably from the first ones so far and I only have compliments about this wonderful work.
