Terminus should faked enough evidence.
Has has at least a (fake) witness, but this is a small clue in a dirty case. Besides, the almost public relationship between nightmare and Terminus make this “proof” very weak.
I hope he could built fake proof before the assassination. For example, he could cover his own plans as the reason of the murder, like that Mortis covered Shadow because he has a relationship with a human.
That could be a good cover up because they had found evidence in Shadow room already besides Nightmare would act as witness of both, assassination and Shadow bad behavior with real proof.
That Mortis likes Shadow is real.
That Shadow has contact with a human is real and easy to prove.
Only that this is not the real circumstances that make Terminus kill. And Terminus would talk a different story, but because guild people can find real evidence over Shadow accusation, and maybe Mortis didn’t even know the real reason because Terminus has killed, it makes very difficult to convince anyone that the real reasons are completely different.
