Oh dear how’d I know this is where that was going. But will Shadow consider Tim? Or will she simply be content to leave him in her past and try to move on?
When 20-24 year olds believe that they’re not only adults, but also a truly cunning “machiavellian” lorious bastard, who would put Vetinari and Xanatos to shame…
Well, that’s how they look from the side at those moments:D Gotta give it to the kid, he doesn’t suffer from lack of sense of self importance, that’s for sure.
1. You just destroyed a budding relationship with an exceedingly willing partner-in-crime.
2. You have no idea if Shadow will have any interest in a criminal partnership.
3. Even if you have no intention of a criminal partnership with Shadow, having her in close proximity will make your criminal activity VERY complicated.
4. If she refuses (which I’m certain she will, though you don’t know that yet) it makes you look bad. And since you already messed up your chance with the best choice, now you’ll have to live with some rando.
My guess for the ace in the hole is that Terminus and Nightmare know that Shadow has been seeing a human on the sly for years and that said human is a hybrid. That’s really good material with which to threaten a person with.
How can it threaten Shadow in any way?0_o No, seriously, how? Nightmare is known to be envious of Shadow for some time, now she’s also angry at Terminus and above all they have no proof.
“She’s meeting a human!”
“No, I don’t, lol.”
“Understandable, have a nice day.”
There is no hook, only idea where to search for it. The only hook they have is that Mortis is probably the father of Shadow’s friend and they can bargain his life and freedom for Shadow’s compliance. But again, no proof and we have no idea if parenthood even exists in their society.
It’s Brandon’s utter assurance that all he does will be well with a storyline I’ve honestly…skipped a good dozen pages of at a time and found little was lost for the reading that makes me more and more drift away from this comic, myself.
I just hope he continues to be formidable and not just suffer from sudden stupidity when he meets his demise…
Cunning villains are so hard to find nowadays…
Which is why I hope that instead of “karmic Disney villain death” or “redemption sacrifice” he gets some sense slapped into him, serves his 5-7 years and we still see him when he’s the same age as Mortis, but now a much more wise person, who’s past that teenage radicalism.
Like, dangerous community service? I can see this.
“Why you are here?”
“Negligent manslaughter, perjury, usurpation. And how did YOU get into this stupid mess?”
The stupidest movie villain in my opinion is the one in Darkman. There he is, suspended over a lengthy fall, boasting that yes, he would let the hero fall, but the hero? No no no. Spoilers ahead=
Ah, Mr. Villain– you’ve killed the hero’s best friend, seduced the love of his life, destroyed his research, burned his face beyond repair, attempted numerous times to kill him, he’s killed all your henchmen, now here you are, your life in his hands, yet you think, you say to him he won’t do it?
Dude, for that arrogance alone you deserve death!
Has everyone forgotten that her last interaction with Tim was him telling her he has zero interest in a cross species relationship? He basically told her, go find a mate among your own kind. And despite her not being entirely willing at first, she got all dolled up and here comes a *very* eligible bachelor of high social standing proposing to her. And speaking of social standing, we dont know how turning him down would reflect on the sisterhood, so she will be considering that as well, possibly after one of those “conversation in a glance” with Moonie.
You need to re-read that scene because that’s not exactly what happened. Tim admitted that he noticed Shadows feelings, but he was turning her down because he was thinking ahead of what they would have to deal with from both the humans and the Noxians by pursuing an interspecies relationship–something that he doesn’t even know is possible. Tim just wanted to be a normal boy for once in his life after always feeling like an outlier, and it was Shadow who delivered the last slap to the face saying that Tim would never be normal because SHE knows that he’s a hybrid while he doesn’t.
Which, to her, boils down to rejection because she isnt human. What she knows and what she thinks he will accept are two different things. And yes, she smacked him, so that bridge is, for her, currently ashes. And along comes as far as anyone outside Nightmare knows (and Moonie probably suspects) an up and coming prince charming with a bright future wooing her.
Didn’t Shadow have a meeting with Tim’s mother after that, in which she revealed that she was a terrible mother who had withheld critical information from her son about who he was, and that information was of such nature as to probably remove Tim’s inhibitions regarding Shadow?
Yes, Tim rejected her, but she has reason to hope he’ll change his mind on getting new info about himself.
No one had forgotten that. Especially Shadow herself.
How the heck do you even come to a conclusion that jumping into the hands of someone she sees for the first time is a response to that? It’s neither logical choice, nor impulsive reaction based on feelings.
So, now Shadow will either fall for flattery or… not. In the latter case she may or may not echo what Terminus said to Blue and Yellow on the previous page.
But at this point Nightmare is already quite mad at him, at he left himself no way out of this. If she is deep enough in blind rage to go for “nuclear option”, there won’t be any way out of that, either.
Crash and burn?
Surprise… Well I think that there will be a real ruckus with the jealous Nightmare… Frankly, I just hope Shadow will just refuse bluntly the proposal of Terminus.
he doesnt know that he thinks shadow or timmy has it none them know timmys mom is blackheart but shadow
can see he wants book open the the gates nightmare told him shadow has it and timmy her lover so he will try blackmail her
terminus has human girlfriend pregnany maybe we dont see her no more where she go at
its good story but to slow you can guess whats going happen before it happens brandon needs speed story up a bit but like said good story just to slow dragging on and on
*Sigh* this reprehensible guy. On the one hand, I could see Terminus doing this because he knows something about Shadow, and has a place for her in his machinations- and that is what he will probably tell Nightmare to get her to calm down. But I could ALSO see this creep wanting to get Shadow in his clutches JUST because Lord Mortis threatened Terminus to stay away from her. He’s shown himself to be a schemer, but also very petty, so I can’t rule out either one.
And while I do believe Shadow is a smart girl, she is certainly in danger. Very few characters have seen the true colors of Terminus. Few would suspect him. Shadow just had her first romantic advances refused. In Nox, she’s aware that many around her are hooking up. And the Night Mother just dressed her up, and assured her she’s beautiful. Now here’s a handsome figure that flatters her, claims to *want* her, and not only tells her she’s beautiful but non-verbally announces that Shadow upstages Nightmare. I really wouldn’t blame her, if she were taken in by his charms. That is a well baited hook.
Hasnt been stated, but when the Nightmother first introduced Shadow to Mortis, it was clear he already knew who she was. And based on his expressions, that knowing is tinged with sadness, or regret, or something
He’s no Tim, but…well, that says it all.
Oh dear how’d I know this is where that was going. But will Shadow consider Tim? Or will she simply be content to leave him in her past and try to move on?
…she’d better not be considering this dude’s offer.
I don’t see how this has to mean she’s moving on from Tim.
Considering Shadow’s together with Tim in the present, I don’t think she’ll move on.
When 20-24 year olds believe that they’re not only adults, but also a truly cunning “machiavellian” lorious bastard, who would put Vetinari and Xanatos to shame…

STUPID!
*tsk tsk* you don’t even know the ace-in-the-hole yet.
A gun? Why didn’t I think of that!
the great equalizer
Let me guess. The anger of a woman scorned.
Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned
It’s still stupid as hell, Brandon. Unless you got some “super epic refusal” planned in the next comic page… this is going to go down as hated.
Hah, you guys’ll be fine! Half the time you don’t really know what you want until it happens! I’ve been here before.
My guess for the ace in the hole is that Terminus and Nightmare know that Shadow has been seeing a human on the sly for years and that said human is a hybrid. That’s really good material with which to threaten a person with.
I mean, yes, they already do. That has been established already! heh heh
My bad. I was typing too quickly earlier and meant to say that since they know that information, they can use it to threaten Shadow.
How can it threaten Shadow in any way?0_o No, seriously, how? Nightmare is known to be envious of Shadow for some time, now she’s also angry at Terminus and above all they have no proof.

If you’re skipping pages like that, maybe this really isn’t the project for you. Can’t please everybody. 🤔
I just hope he continues to be formidable and not just suffer from sudden stupidity when he meets his demise…
Cunning villains are so hard to find nowadays…
He’s not a cunning villain, he’s an ambitious optimist. Which is how he wound up in this situation.
Yes, exactly!
Which is why I hope that instead of “karmic Disney villain death” or “redemption sacrifice” he gets some sense slapped into him, serves his 5-7 years and we still see him when he’s the same age as Mortis, but now a much more wise person, who’s past that teenage radicalism.

You do realize that those flames are not metaphorical..
Nightmare’s been munching raw chillies, just to get in the mood.
Called it, lol she is about to go super saiyan.
Called it. He probably plans to use her a sacrifice later, or something.
Has everyone forgotten that her last interaction with Tim was him telling her he has zero interest in a cross species relationship? He basically told her, go find a mate among your own kind. Will timmy turner gets the gril

Will red gril get the angry

Timmy Turner? Hah… wrong franchise! I don’t want anything to do with Butch Hartman! 😆
So, now Shadow will either fall for flattery or… not. In the latter case she may or may not echo what Terminus said to Blue and Yellow on the previous page.

Have faith in Shadow. She’s not THAT dumb!
Gotta love the choice of words. Then again, she was tricked by a cardboard box and a cookie…
Surprise… Well I think that there will be a real ruckus with the jealous Nightmare… Frankly, I just hope Shadow will just refuse bluntly the proposal of Terminus.
called it he gos after shadow he knows she has the book wants the book shadow say no he will blackmail her

Wait, is Mortis father of Shadow herself or of her best friend? I’m confused.
