I think you’ve all been pretty patient, and I can’t wait any more… so here’s the new page a little while early!
So, without further delay, meet Shadow!

Wow. That silhouette in the last panel. My body is confused with joy and cuteness. Now I know how Timothy feels. And that name: Shadow. Caught me a bit by surprise but it’s still very good. 4 thumbs up.

Not quite yet. We’ll be sticking around in their childhood a bit longer yet, although we may check in with their future selves briefly between the chapters. A framing device, of sorts.

And…. Not really feeling that name, but that probably because I can only remember a certain way too edgey character with roller bladers when I hear it. But I’ll grow used to it.
Not sure where you were going with it, but I’ll assume it’s either a internal joke that I don’t get or a reference to something I don’t know about.
It’s just a name. *shrug*
You know, it’s probably less of a stretch for me, because I’ve never actually played a Sonic game featuring him in it. So I don’t really have a point of connection, other than from the outside where he’s generally viewed as well… a bit much. Even for Sonic.

That would probably be to much of a good thing. To many cute scenes all the time and it wouldn’t be anything special anymore… like eating only chocolate all day long… you would just get sick XD
… even if I have to admitt that I love those adorable moments in webcomics. Something would be missing without them.

I’m not say it should be super cute all the time just he next strip, so we can all go brain numb of the cuteness. After that it should take a least 20 strip before we get another cuteness over load.
I guarantee nothing! XD I have no way of predicting beforehand how cute my hand will make it in the end. It just kinda happens.

Err… what is it?
Well I’ve recently revamped my site and I’d like for most if not every one here to visit it, at least once you or they might find something there you might like. I don’t know if you saw it before now. The feature I like the most is the fanfic found on the Novels page.
Your comic is already linked and I recommended it to every one that visit my site. Now if only I can get Cheetah’ permission to link his comic. There are a few other web comics that I’m reading that I’ll try to link.

I’ve change the CMS from webpro manager to WordPress. I’ve never used it until a few days ago and I was hook. The shear ease of use is mind numbing. And the list of plugins that you can install, is unbelievable. I’ve been look every where for something like this and now I have a site that’s mobile compatible. And I don’t have to add or change any thing. WordPress with the right theme and plugins, RULES!!! Hands down the best web script for any use any where. Right?
It’s what I use… though I’m a total Newby at it so far.
I go the hang of the basics really fast, but I still have to learn how to edit the theme so it looks the way I want it to. As in more Anime and less of the base style.
You have created a really good comic, I must have read through it at least five time already. Just don’t stop, we’ll all be lost without it. =^.^=

We’ve kinda grown attached to these two. By the way does Shadow know any magic, can she even do magic?
Other than portal ‘magic’ she doesn’t really have any powers beyond advanced sight and smell.

Well, no, not really. The only reason she can even open a portal is because it’s tool-assisted. That metal clasp on her cloak’s chest is very important. It’s been ‘enchanted’ with the ‘spell’ that opens up portals, and allows her to pass through them. There are other interesting tools and processes that her race has acquired too, but we won’t get into that quite yet.
OK, Cool, so we’ll get to see more magic with other items, right?
Something like that, yeah! XD
… wait…. Brandon, are you throwing out spoilers for your own comic, now? XD
Hmmm… nope. I don’t really count that information as a plot spoiler.
Maybe not a plot spoiler, but… okay, just my personal opinion and not meant to criticize, but informations that will be mentioned in the comic in due time shouldn’t be given away so easily in before… I mean, you didn’t gave her name away either, before it was time for her to mention it. I just like self explaining storys better (and to discuss explanations and possibilitys in the comments, that’s always fun ^^).
If there would be some kind of knowledge that wouldn’t be mentioned/explained over the course of the story, that would be fine to be revealed/explained by you ^^
But as I said, it’s just my personal opinion and I’m definitely not complaining, just trying to explain what I think 😉
Panoctu: From various things Brandon has said here, he intends to do a time-skip. Perhaps hit a few fun/important things that happen to/between Shadow and Tim between now and the age of (roughly) eighteen. My opinion? I THINK that Brandon’s saying that how Shadow opens her portal to Tim’s room is not a major plot point that he intended to cover. The cloak clasp activates the portal and she arrives/appears/materializes/whatever under Tim’s bed. How the clasp works or even how the portal technology/magic work are unimportant… to the story HE wants to tell. In a different kind of story, those ideas might be central. But let’s be honest: Brandon’s telling a love story here of two people from (literally) different worlds. Portal magic is the McGuffin that allows them to meet; it needs no further explanation.
(McGuffin: Alfred Hitchcock’s term for a plot device that’s essential to the story, but doesn’t need to be explained. Stolen microfilm, a uranium mine, something like that.)
I hope I didn’t put words into your mouth, Brandon.
I won’t be going into much detail on how her clasp works, but I will have the gist of it explained within the comic at some point.
Sort of how the Flux Capacitor in Back to the Future is integral to Time Travel, but it is never explained how it works. It just does!

About 2 days, give or take.
The he has let his hands rest for the rest of the week. I should know I draw with traditional tool. So there’s little difference between the two, your wrist gets the same exercise. I’m sure it he feels up to it he would update two or three times a week, but I think he has other obligations that demand his full attention. Have I got it right Brandon?
Well, yes. I do have a full-time job during the week and a bit of a life to keep up with, on top of working on this comic (which is a hobby that eats up my Friday nights & most of Saturday every week, I might add! XD)
Now if you had more time you would probably update the comic three times a week. To bad there isn’t some kind of magic spell or artifact that could slow down or stop time so we can do more of what we love to do.
