Hmmmmm….. Was High Mother Moon planning to adopt Shadow(Her Darkest Angel) formally?
Hey Brandon, I think this is a very good question. Are you feeling a need to let us in on this one?
There is still the possibility that shadow is mortis’ daughter and given the relationship between him and moonlight, that would make shadow more like her daughter than any of the others.
We REALLY need to be able to compare their tail finials to confirm this theory.
it will require a review of archived pages to find one with High Lord Mortis’s.
Brandon once published a page of the various tail finials but that psge disappeared very quickly (probably to maintain the mystery [sneaky Author!!! :-}.})
Mortis having any relation to Shadow sure would explain his behavior. Tail shape having any significance doesn’t entirely link them as father/daughter, but they both generally have heart shapes. Meanwhile, if Moon and Ruthless are really sisters, their tails are an exact match and can be inferred as genetically inherited.
Page 103 in the archives have a very clear dipiction of both their tails virtually side by side, Mortis’ tail is a spade shape while Shadow’s is heart shaped if the tail shapes in fact indicate familiar relation then it’s pretty clear that Shadow is directly in Mortis’ lineage.

No, it makes you a person with excellent taste. And potentially one of wealth.
You are not hurting anyone by reading it, therefore reading it is not inherently bad, therefore you are not a bad person because you read it. Liking it implies you like sex, which is not only not a bad thing, but can be a wonderful thing.
Anyone who says they (or you) are hurt by reading this sort of thing is trying to manipulate you with shame.
The only caveat is if you are addicted to smut, i.e. if you can’t go a day without looking at smut. Then you would be hurting yourself by reading too much of it, and that would be a bad thing, but it STILL wouldn’t make you a bad person.

It is not the end of the world to be a little interested in the embarrassing kind of things we find on the internet today. The only important thing is to not get obsessed with the anything on the internet. Find a healthy balance, and if you can, find somebody you trust to talk about any embarrassing things.

We’ll get there. Personally, I look forward to finding out where Tim actually falls within the hierarchy of the this world. I am sure based on what I have gleaned from past episodes that he and Shadow will make excellent future leaders.
It would be the perfect combination between the human-world and their world. Tim being obviously a meta-human. Therefore I think it will eventually sway towards it, but some drama for tension isn’t all that bad.
Maybe it sometimes feels a bit on the slow side. Then again it gives you more to read and enjoy (つ＞. ＞)つ
Looking at the tails in the second panel has me all dawww. Moonie really cares for her little monster, even with all the Lady Blackheart headaches she brings.
Moonie and Ruth BOTH care for Shadow, but they’re sisters and (from my observations) sisters always bring each other headaches.
That doesn’t mean that they won’t work together in Shadow’s (and Tim’s) best interests.
I’m real hopeful Tim will have a few things to say about it.

I don’t think planning applies to Shadow. I suspect a little spontaneity.
I think Tomokatu’s thought was probably more or less on target. But for some reason, it hinged on the dead guy not being dead. It’s possible that could be as simple as the heir presumptive would need to support that now, which he won’t, because it’s easier to marry an orphan against her will than someone with an official high-ranking parent. Or it could be due to stuff with Nox society that I’m either not aware of or not recalling at the moment.
She isn’t planning to marry Shadow to anyone, just help her meet somebody and to look nice for the meeting.
I had the wrong impression then, in my mind I figured Moonie was decking out Shadow in such a way to formally announce Shadow as the heir apparent (first in line to be mother if you will)
That could STILL have been Moonie’s plan but no marriage (bonding, handfasting (pick your own ritual) would have been required.
The murder of Lord Mortis may have interrupted the formal acknowledgment of Shadow as his hidden daughter but confirmation as the heir doesn’t require a bonding.
I think that might have been the point, after all that’s also what shadow thought and we largely view the events through their perspective.

Based on how things went down earlier, we know that nobody was expecting Terminus to suddenly be in charge. The former leader of the male Noxian organization dies, the heir apparent Lord Mortis is framed as a killer, so the mantle fell to Terminus.
We already know Moonlight and Mortis were engaged in… *ahem*… fostering diplomatic relations a while ago. I’m guessing Lady Moonlight has been looking forward to a formal bonding ceremony between herself and Mortis, which would further explain why she’s so furious. I’ve mentioned possible kinship between Mortis and Shadow before, so yeah, Terminus picking *her* would be absolute insult to injury.
Lord Pax was framed, Lord Mortis was murdered as far as I recall (but not double-checked)
Does she have to though? I mean, she didn’t answer him… could just pop over to human world and make Frienemies with Blond Bimbo Wannabe and Candy Stealer. Lay low? Maybe not low enough there…

This one seems even more confusing than the last. So, if there’s NOT any sort of forced marriage schtick going on why would she be so flustered? Can’t Shadow just tell him to marry his right hand like he was going to do anyway?
Brandon seems to elive that Shadow’s costume (“that TORTURE device”) was too restrictive so it could have been a classic Victorian swoon.
Heroines often swoon – it’s a useful ploy to gain time or extend a plot-line.

Personally? I’ve worn some tight corsets in some hot rooms, but no. Sadly the swoon and feint is purely myth, and an old one at that. But what I am saying is that this seems… uh odd. Moon here, is quite worried about the goings-on that has transpired. If Shadow doesn’t have to agree to anything, why on earth would Moon even be bothered about it? Seems like it’d be a non issue if so.
Of course Shadow may secretly be pregnant (Huh? By whom!!???) and have had a fainting moment from the close atmosphere of the party and the shock of Terminus’s unexpected proposal.

I still would like to know why Moon’s actually upset though. That would help this past few scenes make a lot more sense.
For one, Moony was close with Morty, in more than one sense.
Also, Terminus clearly tries to pull something, she just cannot figure out exactly what. Which annoys her even more.
See, if she was more mad about that, that would kind of make sense, wouldn’t it? It’s just that she seems mad about Terminus asking Shadow out. Thus the confusion and the purpose of me asking in the thread. In another thread with the same question. Brandon had answered that Shadow does NOT have to go along with it. Which, I guess, makes these two last ones decisively confusing. I suppose at this point I’ll just have to wait and see?
Well, High Mother Moon may well be murderously enraged at the Murder of Mortis but she’s adult and used to a political environment (at High Mother and High Lord level) so she’s capable of concealing her emotions.
I expect that calling Terminus “that green scoundrel” is about as demonstrative as she gets, even in private, until she is witnessing his eventual (and probably humiliatingly painful) demise. THEN she can cut loose with a full display of emotions. This may involve the use of poison or knives.
Terminus was asking Shadow for much more than a night out.
He wanted ALL of her, physical, emotional and political for ever and ever. In other words bonding (she is to be BOUND) or in human terms ‘marriage”
Since Moonie already had plans of her own for Shadow that evening and the appearance of Terminus already threw those plans awry, she’s now angry and plotting harder.
Waiting and seeing is also a good plan for us at the moment.
I’m going to do that, too.
Oh how badly I want to have more scenes like this but I also really want see Tim and Shadow re-unite.
