This scene is the second last scene, and it won’t be changing for… a little bit! The next scene is like a little stinger at the end before Chapter 5.
oh man and don’t forget that nightmare has eavesdroped on shadow hearing about tim being a hybrid and has been talking to ruth blackheart. now nightmare told terminus, i fear this will give him a blackmail material to force shadow to marry him. i wonder how ruth will react to this, can’t she do something about it. if i recall nightmare was jealous that terminus was proposing to shadow so i doupt that she’ll let this go on. i could keep speculate forever if i have to

We don’t know whether she told Terminus already. And now she will not. Hell hath no fury, etc.
Actually she did! She ran right to him as soon as she heard about it and told him about the Hybrid. It’s what he needed to open the door, after all. So he thinks, anyway!
I wonder if the existence of a hybrid would be any worse blackmail than having a relationship with a human. The general noxious view of humans hasnt really been explored much that I recall? That would determine the shock value of having a kid with one, but Shadow isnt the one who did that (yet). For that matter I also cant remember if it was mentioned what they are even gathering that fear energy for. If they set up two guilds for it, it cant be just for the feels, right?
There either isn’t much deep lore to begin with and this comic is just for fun, or Brandon’s really protective of it. Going with the first one, the two guilds serve similar functions as a joke. The women are exclusively bed monsters while the men are closet monsters. Scaring people is just part of their society, the meters are strictly for measurement, and that’s all we’ve been told IIRC.

Thankfully their are quite a few bigger players on her side here to help out and Tim would never let that happen.

I hope Shadow tells Tim she chooses him over Terminus. She said her heart just isn’t in marrying Terminus. And I think she talked to Tim to make another attempt at confessing her love for him.
I *think* there’s a pretty good chance of that!
I like to hear that! But I’m wondering if Terminus marrying Shadow will have consequences for everyone. Page 105 had Lord Mortis angrily tell Terminus that Shadow was “off-limits”. Either he knows Terminus doesn’t care for Shadow as a person or there is a specific reason he said Shadow was off-limits. But because Lord Mortis was serious and grabbed his neck, there’s a reason he did not want Terminus going after Shadow romance-wise. Also, one thing I wanted to tell you for some time now is that Terminus and Nightmare remind me of Randall Boggs from Monsters, Inc.
Don’t forget this is all still a flashback. We’ve already seen that Shadow ends up with Tim and becomes part of his family.

I was giving my opinion on the level of freedom of choice they have, one’s ability to cross dimensional boundaries has nothing to do with it.
I wonder if shadow will say “yeah to you” to tim in the next page?
She’s only getting married if she said yes.
I wonder if we will see Tim do battle with Terminus. I think that will be a unique twist.
I have always envisioned a fight between Tim and Terminus. Mostly, I envision them fighting the same way Osmosis Jones fought Thrax near the end of the movie “Osmosis Jones”. But seeing as how Terminus is years older than Tim, I’m guessing he will be a worthy adversary. And since page 112 showed his muscles, I’m guessing he works out often. I also wonder if Terminus is the reason behind the three scars on Tim’s back shown at the beginning of the comic.
I see the fight being more cliche in a good way. Tim gets his butt handed to him Shadow intervenes gets hurt and Tim goes Roddy Piper on Terminus.

It’s a confidence scheme. Terminus knows everything. Plus shadow is a target but not because she is necessary. Nightmare found a lead on what they were looking for. Terminus is going to blackmail shadow and get her out of the way so they can capture Tim and use him to open the door to the core
