The problem being, that while sexual acts between minors are legal due to so-called Romeo and Juliet laws, in many places portraying that act is still very illegal. Even if it’s a drawing of fictional characters, it’s still considered “kiddie porn”. I’m not judging your porn preferences, I’m just hoping the artist doesn’t get in trouble for it.
Sorry, I typed this up yesterday but evidently the post didn’t go through. So, many states have a “Romeo and Juliet Law” on the books, which basically says minors can engage in sex with other minors (or those very close in age, like an 18 yrold with a 17 yrold) without it being considered Statutory Rape. So sure, it’s fine that they’re together. The problem being that the depiction of that act, even fictitious and drawn rather than photographic, is illegal in a lot of places if they’re underage. I’m not trying to crusade for purity/prudery here, I just don’t want the author to get in trouble

Sure, but legislation regarding pornography is… vague at best when it comes to whether drawn stuff counts as Child Porn. That’s why most porn comics will say “the characters portrayed in this comic are 18+” at the beginning, regardless of how old the characters may look, or how old they are in their original media (if it’s based on a videogame or anime or whatever). A disclaimer at the beginning doesn’t really work, since they meet at eleven, and then grow up from there, so I’m not sure how the author could cover himself. I guess it depends on where he lives, and where the majority of his webtraffic comes from.
“Legislation” simply does not matter. In any effectively lawless sovereignty. What matters is who are able to assemble a torch-and-pitchforks mob or jackboots and against whom they are willing to send those.
Even within a mostly-law-constrained, but corrupt sovereignty, a law could be made, but climbed over via thimble-riggery like “constructive treason” (or more modern “blowing up bridges and foundations of Soviet Power”).
I thought they were twelve or thirteen.
And I’m wondering if Tim’s parents know what’s happening right now. For sure they know what’s happening in general.
I typed a reply to this yesterday, but apparently it didn’t go through. I reskimmed through the archives since it’s been a few years. They meet at eleven, have Halloween together, then it fast forwards to him entering high school and a little beyond. Based on the way it’s phrased, I highly doubt he’s a freshman (~14-15 in the United States), so he’s likely ~14-17 depending on whether he’s a sophomore or junior.
As for the parents, there is at least one scene that shows the mom and dad knowingly smiling while Tim hides Shadow in the bathroom, but Tim doesn’t likely know they know. There’s also the flashforward where the parents take Tim and Shadow’s picture when they go to prom, but we clearly haven’t caught up to that yet. That’s “7 years later”, so they’re presumably 18 by then.

Wait a minute… I have pieced it all together. Because Terminus and Nightmare know about Tim being “freinds” with Shadow and being a Hybrid, Terminus is going to blackmail shadow and force her to marry him. With her out of the way, Terminus or Nightmare is going to kidnap tim and use his blood to open the core. Took me 4 weeks to figure out
He wants a hybrid, so kidnap her, let Tim find out, come rescue her. Classic plot.

Oh yes, this is the moment I’ve been waiting for, I love this whole series and I started following just for what will come next, but ended up staying for the plot and see how this goes on and that we finally get to this moment, this is truly happiness
