Your “problem” depemds on the definition of “a child” that you’re following. That varies from culture to culture.

there was talk about what makes someone a child in regards to the characters. I replied my opinion based on drinking and renting a car. I’m old, anyone who can’t drink (21) is a child to me, and I call anyone under 25 (rent a car age) a kid.
Because insurance companies charge a LOT extra if you intend to allow an unmarried male, age 16-24 to drive your car. So you save money, and don’t. For their narrow purpose, a 21 year old single male is a child.
