The Monster Under the Bed will return in the new year, I am taking the rest of the year off (Not really, I will be around and working on things behind the scenes!) so I will see you all soon in January 2023! It’s going to be quite the chapter this time around!
I’m pretty sure the lyrics are supposed to be “Stand Beside your love” which makes sense. Stand inside your love doesn’t. Stand inside what? That’s nonsense. The smashing pumpkins mumble when they sing, almost as bad as Hootie and the Blowfish, so for all anyone knows, including their publisher, it could have actually been Beside and not Inside. They mumble so bad they don’t even know themselves.
The song is LITERALLY called Stand Inside your love and you can hear it said several times.
While I accept your correct lyrics of the song (I wouldn’t know, never having heard it) it creates a rather disturbing mental image of the eviscerated corpse of “your love” and the knife or scalpel-wielding protagonist whose worn sneakers are INSIDE that body cavity.
“Stand beside…” would have been a LESS ugly image.
I have always taken it as “love” being like a “zone” radiating outward from an individual, like a warm, welcoming field which you can stand inside of and partake in that love.
You know, like when you hug someone. 🤗

I think you’re taking the lyrics too literal. For me, Stand inside your love points the the love within one’s own heart for whomever and at the same time, the term Stand inside meaning then, be brave, be strong inside your own heart and be courageous with giving one’s own love – which is a problem with many of us humans when we love someone and are to afraid of feeling rejected to give the love to the other person.
Just sayin’
Prepositions are meaningful.
“Stand BY your man…” is different to “Stand ON your man…” and that gives a whole new meaning to feminist critique.

yea and i used to say the same thing of another artist. and suddenly he took a comission to draw a comic that involves mowgli and wil-e coyote fighting, raping, and choking to death/drowning naked women from multiple franchises in some kind of death match contest shit. now thats ALL he produces…. so im sorry if the title makes me a LITTLE nervous.
To me, the Noxian’s kind of remind my of the Twi’leks from the Star Wars franchise, mainly due to their various skin colors (red, green, black, etc.).
