But yes, where contraception is available it should be used.
When it was my first time, you had to be married AND have a doctor’s prescription and first you needed to find a non-Catholic doctor to write the bloody script in the first place, then find a non-Catholic pharmacist to FILL the bloody thing!
You are of course right but the boy is under the impression, probably mistaken(?), that he can’t get Shadow pregnant. She probably has the same belief.
I didn’t use contraception the first time either. Foolish of me. But I’m pretty sure my son did. I might even have helped that during “The Talk:”

I think you are combining the sheet (which is red) and the cloak (which is red on the inside).
If you look closely she’s actually facing the bed, not away. (look at her feet)
