Unrelated Question: Does anyone have any idea what a Noxian accent would sound like?(Part of me thinks it sounds ghost-like/raspy) Do they pronounce certain words differently?
Well, since Nox seems to be located under a Canadian town, and has been culturally isolated (except for Ruth and now Shadow) I suspect their accent is a blend of older accents – Scots, French and North-east USA (Maine, Maryland etc.)
Now, practise those for yourself at home into a recorder [I didn’t say TAPE recorder] but don’t let anybody overhear you because the Alphabet Agencies will want to know WHY.
I believe since it’s some sorta ‘portal’ under Tim’s bed, the location of Nox is irrevelant geographically. It can be ‘anywhere’ you like. Two passages may be next to each other in Nox, but one may open in Canada, while the other, say, in New Zealand. At least Brandon’s explanation led me to believe that.

While it’s POSSIBLE that Nox’s ‘tunnnels’ form a topgraphical ball of string, I credit Noxians with a desire for an efficient layout.
If these portals required a corresponding location, placement of a bed at just the right place would be quite improbable.
Also, Shadow managed to find Marcy’s room somehow. A single step “use seeking spell on portal” is more feasible than the sequence with finding her address, then checking on a map, etc.
So, mostly yes.
The question is, how permissive the requirement for “under a bed” is.
She used a hammock in the back yard in Halloween story. So it’s not a simple tunnel.
Found the Nox side in #116. No mentions of a hammock, however.

I was left wondering the same thing when Ruth’s voice gave her identity away aside from the lack of human scent, but realized that only went as deep as Shadow meeting her as Ruthless earlier.
Their accent is most likely to be a result of having too many sharp teef.

Brandon did say there was no noticeable difference between a Human and Noxian voice, but claimed they might have an accent(albeit one that doesn’t exist in the human world). Any thoughts?
Of course. Their vocal chords etc are of the same size. But due to sharp teeth lips and tongue can be used in the same ways only sometimes.

Theory: Maybe Spencer encountered Whisper the Ghost last night.(Maybe she’s in his locker, hence why he appears to be covering it?)
Why would Whisper (from another Universe) be a more likely candidate than another Nox girl (or guy, if Spencer swings that way)?
There were some cuties who wanted Terminus at his “presentation” ceremony. Perhaps one or more would settle for Spencer.
Midnight knows where Marcy lives. Spencer goes to the same school, it can’t be too hard to explore the neighbourhood.
Except as far as we know most of them don’t explore human society on foot and the system they use to get there is a labyrinth of tunnels, so they wouldn’t know or care where they end up unless they revisit the same target.
I suspect that, just as there’s a neighbourhood of tunnel exits in “the world above”, Noxians will bore the shortest tunnnels and create the matching map of tunnel entrances in Nox.
It would be very inefficient of the tunnellers to purposely create a maze of overlapping intermingled tunnels, and for what purpose?
I don’t think those are physical tunnels. Physical tunnels would be visible (also, hard to dig to second floor). Those are probably magical portals.
I meant the paths leading to said portals in Nox, not that they’re literally digging in the human world. This next part is just personal speculation but it seems inconvenient by design. I’m willing to suspend my disbelief about Shadow finding Marcy so quickly without ever having been in her room before, but maybe the setup is more orderly than I thought.
That’s my point. Corresponding locations of portals would require playing Tunnels & Scaffolding game far too much. Attempts to emulate Dwarf Fortress in real space like that would be impossible to do either quickly or covertly, even once she somehow finds the desired destination. While any pre-built portals would be planned with optimization for amount of work.
Conversely, if the location on the Nox side can be arbitrary, there only need to be arrays of portals at a minimum safe or convenient interval. Which open to (arbitrary) suitable places on the Earth side and can be re-targeted (to other suitable places) by trained Noxians. This fits what we have seen so far, and would allow a visit to Marcy, provided Shadow knows the spell allowing to target location of a given human. Which most likely is not something she is cleared to learn, but could be found in that book.
Taken to the extreme, your second instance would suggest that Nox only requires one portal per Noxian, with both entrance and exit capable of re-allocation as wished.
I have no quarrel with that interpretation.
Terminus of all people could help me out here but I forget how much of that has been revealed.
My reading of Terminus’s character is that he MIGHT help, but it would cost you more than you’d really want to pay.
If Nox was supposed to work like it does now, yes. At least, if costs of re-targeting a portal are negligible — otherwise building more portals can make sense as a long-term investment.
But we know it’s not the case. Nox is a partially cleared ruin of something greater. Most likely a great transportation hub, of course.
Most likely he had a run in with Erma.

Pink is a common girl’s color, blue jean clothing is well… BLUE. Also Marcy is a teen!

And teenager could conceivably be on HRT.
They’re not going to get surgeries, (except *maybe* correcting nonconsensual surgeries done on intersex kids as babies) but hormones for a highschooler could still be possible …if not quite so common as with college-age and up.
but hey, a girl can dream about background representation can’t she? (especially one who barely even knew transition was a thing when she was that age).

I think that you could resolve Perdellian’s anxiety by giving Marcy a DIFFERENT SHADE of pink or blue, since the shades you originally gave her appear to have been co-opted by the trans flag and community.

LOL Yes, sure. But it’s not on her clothes so it doesn’t count. It’s not MY fault pink and blue is one of the cutest colour schemes. It’s cotton candy!
How about we all stop worrying about flags and just read the story.
If someone is trans you will know it! My stories are not that complex or subtle.
Hey, if it were up to me, trans folks would have the magenta/purple/blue colors on our flag, but the bisexual community claimed them first, so *shrug*.
This is one thing I hate of change and new things. After the new thing says “x”, “y”, or “z”, every time someone makes and draws something that has those things in it, they all assume said project or character or anything must be associated with “x”, “y”, or “z”.
It’s not really an anxiety thing. It’s more that there was potential trans character wearing trans colors, and everyone just thinks it’s perfectly normal and not worth commenting on.
I didn’t mean it as a criticism would have applauded the choice had it been intentional.

It doesn’t have to mean anything, some people are just stuck on certain triggers. Rainbows were cool before. A rainbow on clothing doesn’t need any special meaning.
A pink shirt doesn’t need to mean breast cancer awareness/support, it might just be your only white shirt and you washed it with something red.

1). Will Marcy have another big role this chapter?
2). Will we learn what’s bothering Spencer?

The obvious and unanswered question is: “What happened overnight to Spencer that made him so sensitive that he jumped and shouted (Panel 1) when touched on the wrist by Tim?
He WAS going to tell Tim until Marcy interrupted (as entitled alpha females DO) and that conversation was swamped.
Brandon says we’ll find out later (“not quite yet”) but it’s open for speculation at the moment!
