Moonlight is NOT Shadow’s blood relation.
Brandon once published a chart of Noxian tail finials (which indicate family relation) but that’s disappeared since.
It IS interesting to check and see just WHO is related to whom. (It’s not Sunshine & Gloom!)

it depends on the definition. Shadow and Tim’s mothers are sisters, so they are cousins. In some countries or cultures, it also involves genetically related but usually not.
How many times must you people be told? Lady Moonlight is Shadow’s mother-figure, not mother – big difference.
I’m possibly sailing close to (or into) SPOILER territory here, but before Brandon started drawing “The Monster Under the Bed”, he authored two short stories featuring Shadow and Tim, and in the second story it was explicitly stated that Shadow’s mother was… human (her father being Noxian, and I won’t say who!)
Now, while the webstrip is following (in general terms) the plot of the short stories, there are changes between the two, and we (the audience) have no idea if Brandon is going to keep some of the major plot points (such as Shadow’s mothers real identity) or whether they will be changed. Time will tell…

Mother Moonlight and Lady Blackheart (Ruth Newton) are sisters, but Moonlight IS NOT Shadow’s birth mother, only adoptive.

Well… this depends on whether or not a certain “Ruthless” individual steps out of the shadows to lend a few words. I think Mother getting reminded of all parties involved might just make her swallow a bit of that bubbling anger.

Yup.. But I fear moon has more than enough info already. She knows about a hybrid and that Shadow is hanging out with one and knows his monster mother. She has to suspect it’s her old sister, who ran away with a human. I mean Tim’s mom told her to leave Shadow under her protection so two and two together.. she has to at least suspect who Tim is.
Knowing the info she got that lead her to search the room in the first place, leads me to believe she knows or suspects a LOT more than what she accusing Shadow of with the pic. Especially given whet she heard them talking about. She has to know more than just the pic and human friend. (I mean NM heard the term hybrid and her clearly talking to the monster mother of that hybrid)
Also we know now that they aren’t even supposed to know about pics to begin with. Shouldn’t that be a basic thing they would find out, especially in terms of warnings about not getting caught? I mean Shadow knew what one was the first night they met.
I have a bad feeling that she might try to push Shadow into the marriage thing just to keep her “out of trouble/on the right track”.. ugh Hope it doesn’t go that way.
MN is now deep in this as well. No hiding that she knew.
