Shadow recognises that High Mother Moonlight is Lady Blackheart’s sister but she hasn’t twigged (in any obvious fashion) that H.M. Moonlight is her Timmy’s AUNT!
The terms aunt and nephew may be unfamiliar, I agree. However, Shadow does know that Tim is the son of Moonlight’s sister, and hence the family connection. Perhaps it’s not considered important in Nox… only time (and Brandon) will tell!
Why am I just realizing Tim and her are blood relativea? Wait are they? I always figured Moonlight was just her mother in name only.
Tim & Shadow are not blood related (as far has been revealed).
“Mother” is a courtesy title for an elder but Moonlight is also the designated adult in charge of the Noxian orphanage where the infant Shadow was left over a decade ago, so Moonlight is “mother” to a lot of orphan Noxian girls.
Ah ok. Phew almost made me look at the Tim and Shadow relationship way differently.
How will the mother feel when she learns that the boy in question is her old friend’s son?

My only fear is that Moon decides to push Shadow into the marriage thing in an attempt to keep her out of trouble. Or others find out and our evil little friend makes a deal if Shadow goes with him or something. I hope not. I seriously don’t want this to even hint at that kind of threat/drama. Brandon! What, please, is the significance that Mother Moon is wearing TWO aegis?
I can envisage several reasons;
1 One is her original ( a portal key and fear recorder) and the second is an enhanced model only available to the High Mothers with extra (secret) functions.
2 One is her original but the second is Ruth’s (Lady Blackheart) surrendered after her exile from Nox to avoid death & be Tom’s partner.
3 No significance, just worn for extra bling.
Is there further significance to their location on her head and crotch? Sensitivity,perhaps?
Please advise.
I think 2nd option is invalid because Ruth still has her aegis with her as we see in #222 if we consider that High Mothers are not granted a 2nd one
Maybe another question is: How Ruth’s aegis got that big mark?
She’s actually wearing three! I seem to recall Brandon saying in an earlier discussion that there was no particular significance… she just likes wearing them.
