I made a similar comment about hearing what’s being said. It’s not showing, tho. But yes, they would definitely be able to hear what’s being said, or at the very least, the tone of voices which would make it very obvious this isn’t a happy conversation between them.
Idoubt she is gonna step in, maybe vanish into another room to head to nox. once she hears something about something happening to shadow. Because she told her sister, that shadow was under her protection.
Really doubting shes gonna reveal herself yet with how much brandon kept avoiding letting the cat out of the bag.
Yeah, true.. The wait is hard, especially with how he kept teasing it with her past attempts to tell him. (something i hate in stories.. almost as much as cool secrets never getting told to in stories)
So I’m gonna nitpick, cuz this is something I see happen a lot in webcomics… Doors and walls aren’t that soundproof. They would be able to hear what’s being said while standing outside his door. At the very least they would hear the tone of his voice and know something isn’t right. This always bothers me when it’s done.

There probably are Definitely Unsafe words, however.
Safe word/phrase ~ “Y’know your sister’s better at this than you?”

Safe or makes her take it as a challenge. Seems like win win for Tim. 😀
So, this is the moment… as a reader of the original story, if Tim is the weakass he is there I will be so dissapointed… its time he acts like the son of Ruthless and the man that captured Ruthless…

Impossible scenario: Nightmare’s arm comes out from under the bed and pulls Tim into Nox because she still needs him for her potential redemption arc with Terminus, or so she believes since she hasn’t accepted that Terminus has no use for her. I don’t think I would’ve considered it if Tim wasn’t just shoved onto the bed to hypothetically foreshadow him suddenly being abducted. Midnight could’ve just ripped his throat out and gone home if she’s serious about killing him, now she’s lost the element of surprise. Someone did mention a Noxian’s relative strength to a human; I don’t know if Tim could take her in a fight since my assumption is she’s faster and stronger.
Correction, NEXT to the bed since I only looked at the second panel again to check what Midnight did. Tim’s trajectory looked high to me but he ended up on the floor. His proximity to the bed is what stuck out when I made that previous comment.
Well, obviously what Midnight wants is to went.
As to Nightmare, she seems content to go with the plan after “prevailing” in her spat with Terminus, but why would she want to do anything sneaky with witnesses around?
I also forgot pages 314-317 happened. That gleam in Nightmare’s eye after Terminus slapped her might mean she’s not as hopelessly in love with him as I thought she still was, she might be humoring him and biding her time to get back at him.
What Nightmare does?
1) Helps Terminus and
2) Guards herself from his treachery.
These objectives conflict sometimes, but not due to conflicting motivations. I think she does both for the same purpose.
She obviously was and still is attracted by him. It seems that what motivates her, however, is not just having hots for him, or hopeless infatuation, but ambition. At least for status if not glory. Terminus has a Plan for greatness! However half-baked, this stands out in their sleepy kingdom. Thus, as far as Nightmare is concerned, the situation is simple: either she becomes but one convenient bridge on his path, or she rides him to the top. Or he fails, and this would be the loss of her opportunity as well.
As such, she is consistently willing to invest efforts and risks into her ambition, whichever objective requires it today.
