It works really well – Shadow looking miserable and “let’s get it over with” on first reading changes totally when you see she’s got in mind the getting over with being the capture attempt on Midnight, and it looks like she’s really miserable not because she has to show Tim, but because it’s almost a betrayal of her friend. Tim really doesn’t look happy about it in the last panel either, though Midnight’s surprised expression is pretty cool.
Yeah, neither Tim or Shadow are happy about this, but it seems to be a necessity as we will shortly see…
