#58 “An Old Classic”
“Welcome to prime time, bitch!” – Paraphrased from legendary horror icon, Freddy Krueger (Robert Englund)
Of course, you’re not a bitch; nor is Shadow… it’s just a line from the movie… yep. References!

Was this inspired by the many times people asked in the comment what that poster was? 😀
Now that I think about it, we didn’t see traces of technology in the monsters’ world, so Shadow might have no idea what TV/cinema is…
This could be interesting !
She learnt about TV on the previous page. And they seem to have electric lights.
They have lights, yes. Not certain if they are running off electricity or not. I doubt they have compatible electrical outlets if that is the case.
It was sort of inspired by that, but also they were always destined to watch movies together, horror or not.

Hehehehe. Now it’s time for humans to scare the monster… with the magic of Hollywood!
Hollywood can be pretty scary sometimes!
Well, they just scare humans for the fear…
… humans are capable of imagining – or worse, doing – some fucked up shit.
Hahaha, well I’m definitely looking forward to see Shadow’s reaction. Her tongue stuck out gives her a very cute expression though.
Thanks! Yes, I can’t wait to show everyone.
Thursday comic maybe?
Haaaaaaaaaaaa… no.
more story need them pages!!!!
It’ll be time, soon enough.
? but when will then be now??
SOOOONNN!!
🙂
YOU DONE BROKE THE FORTH WALL!!!!!!!!!!!!! I ASKED THAT QUESTION FOREVER AGOOOOO FOURTH WALL BREAK FOURTH WALL BREAK AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
Whaaa? I didn’t break the forth wall yet. Hah.
It’s that “yet” that scares me the most. 😉
Well, considering Older Tim is narrating the story to us, one could argue that the entire story is breaking the fourth wall.
ANDREW ZIMMERMAN AHHHHHHHHHHHHH I’M OFF MY MEDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
EVERY FACE. SHADOW MAKES. IN THIS PAGE. IS ADORABLE.
Especially the “lolnope” face. THE TONGUE WITH THE CLOSED EYES.
HRRRRRRNNNNNGGG.
Hehehe, thank you! I try.
Sooooo movie time? Because if so then that’ll be a fun day.
Indeed!
Yup, and I hope Tim will introduce Shadow to that wonderful snack food, POPCORN!
Netflix and chill!
I figure he’s going for a video of the movie. Let’s just hope it doesn’t move on to video games. And if Shadow ever discovers Facebook or Twitter…
She does learn of video games soon as well… although currently Facebook and Twitter do not exist (and probably won’t factor in) within the story.
Interesting to see how Shadow reacts. 🙂 Fear is a “Gateway”. If you’re evolved enough, you can get beyond fear and accept much, much deeper things.
If she was really “terrifying”, she would have come to him through fire.
Like… appear out of fire? But that’s not really her schtick.
Nightmare on elm street is Freddy right? Havent seen it just started watching Horror movies tbh seen all Screams and Grudges and starting on Saw at the moment. Any way getting back to the horror movies i bet Shadow is gonna love it
Yeah, that’s correct.
Starting with Saw? That’s jumping in at the deep end! 🙂
Ive heard Saw was good same with Chucky
Saw is also a ride into the mind of those killers and want their victims to see both sides of the coin. There was also a game made that does not disapoint.
Also Shadow has a new dress looks good on her
Thanks!
Your very welcome
Got to second everyone else today, Brandon, Shade is just TOO adorable to be frightening! 😛
I’m sure she’ll get angry one day!
Going to start with the original or the one the poster is for? Either way good choice.
Love the bit with the tongue.
I’m not sure I’d consider any of the “Nightmare on Elm Street” films old classics, but then I think more in terms of Frankenstein, Dracula and the Wolf Man then Freddy Kruger.
Still, I’d say that Shadow sticking her tongue out in the fourth panel is a classic.
Slasher flicks are a rather young genre though.
It’s been 37 years since Halloween, the film widely regarded as kicking off the modern slasher genre came out. I don’t consider that exactly young.
Tim’s nine. Anything that was put out before he was born and is still being referenced is, to him, a classic.
Here’s hoping he at least works in a few of the old Hammer Studios’ Christopher Lee/Peter Cushing vampire films, not to mention the best horror-comedy ever, Army of Darkness. 🙂
My friend would love it if I worked in some Hammer films, I bet.
