I really like what you have so far though I must admit I tracked down the story (it took a bit since “monster under the bed” is a bit generic) and spoilered myself. Of course I think it was worth it because the story was really good. Of course now I have a craving for similar style stories and they are not exactly easy to find sadly.
This is sort of why I don’t exactly want to just point people to the story. I don’t want to give all the spoilers away!
Well, rest assured I DO have some changes (both big and small) planned for this version, so it won’t be exactly the same thing. Hopefully there’ll be some nice surprises in store for those already in the know.
Yeah, that is why I didn’t point out where the story is. There actually isn’t enough in the comments alone to find it. Also I am excited to see what changes you make and if I can notice them as with any book or story I really get into I accidentally ended up reading the story twice.

Anyway, one obvious little alteration I’ve made from the original that should stick out is that the Monsters no longer have wings. They were pretty useless and honestly I don’t feel like drawing them every week. XD So bye-bye wings. There are some story elements I’ll be shifting around. Characters who don’t appear until later may show up much earlier, or have an expanded role.

Just out of curiosity, just what the heck does his mom THINK he’s doing with his socks? I mean I could think of a few things, but then I think he’s too innocent at this point to consider such things…

She doesn’t know what he’s doing with his socks, she just wants to know where they went. She doesn’t exactly want to go shopping for a whole new sock collection if they are just going to mysteriously disappear… am I right? Can’t it just be that simple without implying my 8 year old protagonist is jerking his ween into his socks and tossing them out without a trace?

Wait… He’s grounded… because of missing socks? Really? What does she think he’s doing with the socks? Pawning them for Drug money? They’re socks. People lose socks all the time. My dad is missing some of His socks.
Ahhh, but do people usually lose ALL of their socks in-between laundry days without a good reason? No.
Keep in mind, this is not a serious comic and realism is just a teeny bit skewed. It’s a cartoon.
Alright, he has a total milf. Even if she’s a bit… egh.

Description: Ruth has her hands on her hips and is looking sideways at Tim.
Dialogue:
Ruth: *Oh* *Please*! Don’t try and play innocent with me.
Panel 2:
Description: Tim looks earnest.
Dialogue:
Tim: But, I *am* innocent!
Panel 3:
Description: We’re at Tim’s level. Tim is sitting on the bed. Ruth’s back is towards us. She is holding a pair of socks in her hand.
Dialogue:
Ruth: Then explain to me where the rest of your *socks* are.
Tim: Umm…
Panel 4:
Description: Side on view of Ruth.
Dialogue:
Ruth: Yeah, that’s what I thought. So until I hear a decent explanation, you’re *still* *grounded* kiddo.
Panel 5:
Description: Focus on Tim. He looks upset and makes a fist.

The socks on “wrongfully accused” look like condoms xD. But i love the story, plz keep up the gud work c:
