Surprised there haven’t been more, honestly.
I actively avoid obvious similarities to other ‘monster-related’ media (if I can help it) but in this case, yes; both stories have a system of measuring fear. However, the use of this mechanism is widely different in both.
My monsters are not actively mining fear as a natural resource, but simply keeping track of a collective personal pool of it in order to determine a ranking system within their guild. It’ll come up soon enough.
Man there is coming quite variety monsters I would never expect a white monster in this.

I imagine we’re seeing the common dynamic between Shadow and Midnight. Shadow is the group’s geek who doesn’t quite fit in and Midnight sees herself as Shadow’s protector. This sort of explains the way she treats Tim, who she probably sees as another threat.

And if they’re related then you can tell why shes mean to Shadow (for those who dont know Mother basically adopted Shadow)
It’s not really the same, Nightmare’s is more like a broad sword, or shovel, and Mother’s is more like a Diamond.

also didnt expected that Mother would be pure white, all monsters till now are 2 or more colors based, a pure white character certainly pop up there~
also, maybe she being the Mother and having the color white are connected? oh the theories only grow XD
also Mother inpatient tail swinging is kinda cute, scary as f*, but cute XDD
Technically, she isn’t all white, she has grey ears and tail tip, with silver eyes.
