I’m glad we finally get a teaser of Blackheart. She was one of my favorite characters in the fic. Not sure why but I tend to like sub characters more than the main characters. Weird huh. Anyways that was really my only regret with the fic is that her character wasn’t fleshed out better. Hopefully (due to popular demand apparently) we might get a mini arc eventually with more of her back story. Can’t wait for the day we finally get a full view of her.
She’ll get her due this time. 😉
Since many readers seem certain that Lady Blackheart is Tim’s Mom, let me offer an alternative idea.
Lady Blackheart is referred to as The Missing Mother, indicating she was supposed to become the High Mother. We know that she was a contemporary of Mother Moonlight. Brandon has told us that Shadow is nine years old at this point in the flashback and, in the comments, that Shadow was left on the doorstep of the Sisterhood as a baby. He’s also said that Mother Moonlight has only held that position for nine or ten years. We must accept these as facts… or that Brandon’s lying to us.
Now assumption: The Sisterhood of Noctis are mammals. Pretty safe bet, considering the breasts we’ve been drooling over. Mammals give birth to live young after a pregnancy period. (Okay, excluding the platypus.) In humans, that pregnancy is about nine months. Let’s assume that it’s roughly as long for the Sisterhood. Also assume that Mother Moonlight is the head of all the Sisterhood, not just the children. (That DOES seem to be the case.) As head of the order, she’d find out very quickly if one of the Sisters was pregnant.
So, consider the timing I’ve outlined. Lady Blackheart leaves, renouncing the position of High Mother about ten years ago, leaving Moonlight in that position. A few months after she leaves, an unexpected monster girl is left at the door of the Sisterhood. No current member of the Sisterhood has been known to be pregnant.
So, counterpoint: Is Lady Blackheart SHADOW’S mother, not TIM’S?

I believe that Blackheart is Ruthie (Ruthless) the mother of Timothy, as Blackheart and Ruthless means the same thing and that the only image of Blackheart we have look like her.

The only time I’ve drawn her is on this page, and she’s mostly hidden.
I’m surprised no one has come up with this theory. Something about Timmy attracted Shadow to him. Remember the sock stealing? Maybe something about Tim dad (possibly genetic) attracted his own nightstalker?
…Only the X-Buster on his arm knew for sure.

I agree with this more so than LazyReader’s. I mean we haven’t see any of the other monster girls taking socks, talking about socks, or big piles of socks laying around Nox. So far it has just been Shadow.

I have a question. Assuming Blackheart was suppose to be a mother and she appears to be all yellow like the current mother is all white. (Granted it is hard to tell if she has spots or markings since the hood is covering most of her head but it doesn’t look like it.) Does a mother have to be a single color or is it a coincidence?
She’s actually orange with Blonde hair. So… nope!

I gotta admit I don’t see the connection from a blond hair swoosh and a S&M nickname from page 42. I mean Ruthie has those cool lightning bolts under her blond swoshs.
Hypothosys: compare the image of Ruthie(ruthless)to Lady Blackheart. They have the same hair color/shape, same nose, same lips, same forehead, AND same head shape from a sideview. Conclusion: Ruthie(Ruthless)and Lady Blackheart are EXACTLY the same woman. 2nd Conclusion: Shadow is Timothy’s hot sister. 3rd Conclusion: They are having forbidden love/dating/sex. XD 😀
We can see at the start of the comic that, after all is said and done, Tim and Shadow are still getting it on with each other. This’d mean they found out they were siblings and still decided to keep being lovely-dovely, which seems unlikely to me.

Well considering Shadow is a couple of months older than Tim the twin theory goes out the window. Plus I don’t exactly see any family resemblance. I can’t even remotely get behind a sister theory.
Yeah, I will gladly admit that Tim & Shadow are not siblings at all. They both have completely different sets of biological parents.

Actual question – if Tim took some/all of his closet with him, would it stay keyed to the exit Shadow currently uses to go to him? ie – are the Underdoors keyed to geography, or locality?
