Man, Nightmare is really well drawn in the 3rd panel, it looks very dynamic with her hair lifting a bit from whipping around suddenly.

Sunset is rather brightly coloured for a monster of the darkness. On that note, her name has oddly nice imagery considering she’s surrounded by names like Nightmare, Shadow, Gloom, etc.
And she’s also the apparent tomboy of the group… do I taste irony?
Their mother is pure white, so they can come in all colours.

You know, I just realized something. All the monsters are brightly colored – Mother Moonlight is white, Nightmare is deep red, Sunset is bright orange, Midnight is deep blue, Gloom is bright Cyan. And Shadow….. is grey. Like the absence of color. Like she doesn’t fit in with everyone else. Well done, Brandon sir. Your subtlety continues to impress.
With that out of the way, you need to have a patreon. I know others have said the same thing, but you need to do this, so I can throw money at you to help you write this thing so I can eventually get a dead tree copy of your comic. 🙂

The shoulder spikes are probably there to make their silhouette look more menacing, since they spend their time scaring people and all.

It’s all in the presentation, really. They all are too cute to be really scary. This is why they work best in the shadows.
