Just a suggestion for later, and I know I’ve commented on it before: Have Shadow meet Tim’s parents (preferably on Halloween at first).
And now I’ve got this idea that the monsters tend to stay on their side of the portals on Halloween, because the scare value is just not suitable. Human-curious “freaks” like Shadow see it as a time to blend in and learn a bit more about the human world, but honestly how much can you learn about us on a day when we’re dressing up as monsters and going house to house asking for candy? 🙂
