Having someone you know you can manipulate bring you a book, and having that book be about history and theoretical ancient ruins, Terminus is really building up the bad guy vibe something tells me this is going to involve an ancient device that grants one incredible power, everyone else thinks it’s just a myth/legend but not terminus and he wants that power for himself.
Well now, that does sound like an evil plan!

Of more story important note, ominous book there, mayhaps our new manipulator is planning on delving too deep into the past.

Well it’s an old refferance but I think this is a very Pinky and the Brain moment. Cuase she’s probly up to the same thing she deos everynight… TRY TO TAKE OVER THE WORLD!

Anyhoo, dead curious about the book. I don’t suppose she’ll try to bop Shadow and co over the head with it? And… well, just one small issue: the History title shown on the cover…. why not add the real deal? If it takes up too much space, put the author on, then illegibly small a title-substitute.
Love it though, Midnight’s mischievous look is kewt.
It’s just one account written within the pages of that particular book. Note that Midnight is reading from within the open pages of the book itself, somewhere near the middle.

None of them are blood siblings. ‘Sister’ is just a guild term for each member, with ‘Mother’ as the leader.
I love the first panel. It’s nice to finally see a smile and general happy look on Nightmares face.

Oh I do. It’s sad when you can seen one of your favorite characters going down the path of darkness. Brings me back to my Naruto days. Sasuke was a favorite character then he went all dark side. Wasn’t evil just went the wrong way.

I must say, I have been following your work ever since you have made the novels and I’ve always enjoyed reading them through time after time. As a writer myself, you show a brilliant narrative in your work. And now your web-comic is getting better and better. If I had money, I would be a patron for sure. Keep up the good work, man!
Ok here is another fan theroy! Well this is it for Nightmare and I think she will no longer be in the story anymore. The reason for this is because Nightmare wants to become first reader more than anything and she did talk to that guy that wanted something from her in the library. Now what that is exactly I don’t know and will come later on. Now I think Nightmare over heard the conversation with High Mother and Shadow about her numbers increasing just like Lady BlackHearts. So she is diving into the history books to find all the information she can on why there are the number spikes and she will go to the Old Ruins and gets her answers.
Now Nightmare will find out that Shadow was with Tim and hanging out with him thus giving her the Spike increases. I don’t know exactly what Tim is doing to give her those spike increases but we will find out later my thoughts are the Tim Cares about Shadow and Love is Stronger than Fear. Ok so Nightmare follows Midnight or Shadow and discovers that Shadow is with a human and now understands why she is getting her Spike jumps. So she will attack shadow and Tim will defend her thus getting the claw marks on his that you see in page 2. I think she will get away and Shadow plus Midinight will try to stop Nightmare from telling the High Mother and Nightmare will meet her end some how but shadow or midnight will have Nightmares pendant.
So after they stop Nightmare, Shadow and Midnight will go back to Tim to make sure he is ok and this will build a friendship between Midnight and Tim since Tim protected Shadow from Nightmare then give him Nightmares pendant. Also Tim will give midnight a nickname that she doesn’t like because you can see Shadow almost call Midnight the nickname that Tim gave her in Page 75.
So there you have it this is the beginning of the end for Nightmare.
If this story were much shorter, I’d say that would sound like a lovely way to play out events… however, I have a lot deeper things planned out yet for Nightmare in the future. 😉

Nightmare spies on Shadow, and discovers her relationship with Tim. They fight, and Tim gains Midnight’s respect for saving Shadow.

Hey, let us enjoy Vice Admiral Ruthless a bit longer! (She’s aged quite gracefully, IMO, though I still say she should keep her hair long). Midnight was up twice as long as Ruth has been so far.
Besides, there’s really only Ruth, Shadow, Midnight, Mother Moonlight, Nightmare, Gloom, and Dusk so far, unless you count the two background bathing beauties. Who on that list would you replace her with?
That reminds me: Brandon, does Tim have any human friends his age – at either stage in his life – who Shadow would see as ‘competition’?
We’ll see who I pick next, and we’ll see if there are any more humans too, eh?
I’m still hoping for a fully clothed adult Nightmare. Now I know everyone will be thinking why fully clothed? We want boobs. Well something tells me adult Nightmares outfit would be bad***.
Giving the extras a bit more screen time would actually be a nice treat, since we will see more of the main cast as the story progresses anyway. I suspect theres some nice concept sketches perhaps with several noxxian girls that would nicely “flesh out” the culture 😉
