Cast of Characters
Timothy Newton
An average 18-year-old guy who as a young child strikes up an unusual friendship with a young monster girl named Shadow from under his bed over a case of missing socks. As the years went by, this friendship turned into a sweet, but also forbidden, romance between the two star crossed lovers.
Shadow
A 19-year-old Noxian girl who’s deemed an outsider by her fellow Noxians due to her fascination with humanity and its cultures. One fateful night, she meets a young Timothy Newton who, instead of fearing her, is mesmerized by her, leading the two to develop a close friendship and later intimate relationship that will change their lives forever.
Ruth Newton
Timothy’s mother and Thomas’s wife who, while hard on both, loves her family dearly. However, Ruth is hiding a monstrous secret from her son… and it’s not just her and Thomas’s bedroom “activities.”
Thomas Newton
Timothy’s father and Ruth’s husband, Thomas runs his own photography business in the town of Ellis, Ontario. Timothy takes after his dad in more ways than he could imagine.
Midnight
A Noxian girl part of the Sisterhood of Noctis and Shadow’s best and only friend in Nox, the labyrinthine realm where Shadow and all other Noxians hail from. She’s also the only one who knows about Shadow’s friendship(and not-so-subtle crush) on Timothy, and while she’s doesn’t like him, she tolerates him for Shadow’s sake.
Terminus
The charming First Reaver of the Brotherhood, Terminus has big ambitions for himself and his people. However, don’t let his charm fool you, he’s willing to do anything to get what he wants, no matter the price.
Nightmare
An appropriately named member of the Sisterhood and its current First Reaver, Nightmare is determined to be the best at everything. While she has a pretty face, her personality leaves much to be desired. She finds herself romanced by Terminus into assisting in his quest to find “The Core,” but she’s also willing to make the lives of anyone who (willingly or not) stands between her and Terminus a living hell… even her hated rival, Shadow.
Lady Moonlight
The current High-Mother of the Sisterhood, she rules as a Queen amongst her people. She’s also the adoptive mother of Shadow, who she found on her doorstep as a baby and cherishes very much. However, while her love for Shadow is genuine, it might also end up driving a wedge between her and her beloved daughter, just as it did many years ago with her sister.
Lady Blackheart
The original successor for the rank of High-Mother, Lady Blackheart is ironically a boogeywoman amongst her people. No one knows what happened to her, only that she disappeared without a trace decades ago, leaving the role to be given to her sister, Lady Moonlight. However, the past never truly stays buried…
Mortis
The second-in-command of the Brotherhood and the chosen successor of the current High-Father, Pax. Despite his friendly demeanor, he appears to be hiding a few secrets, both regarding High-Mother Moonlight and Shadow.
Eclipse
A Noxian paramour who takes an interest in Midnight. She is a jack of all trades, such as helping pierce the ears of Noxians ready to begin dating.
Marcy Weaver
A cheerleader at Timothy’s high school who takes an interest in him. She asks Timothy to help her study to get a little closer to him, inadvertently incurring the wrath of Shadow. However, Marcy might just end up being the “push” both Timothy and Shadow need.
Spencer Dobbs
Timothy’s best friend in the human world, not to mention one of the few people he can feel normal around. He loves playing sports and busting his best friend’s balls, but how long can Timothy keep his friend in the dark about his night life?
Craig Kowalski
A young man who bullied Timothy back when they were kids before having the crap scared out of him by Shadow on Halloween. No matter how many times he told people what happened, no one believed his story. He currently plays as a basketball player at Timothy’s high school, and is associated with Marcy Weaver.
Anna Wilhelm
An adventurous young woman who finds herself caught in a romance with a familiar face. However, her romance might end up getting her caught in the middle of something bigger than a late night sexcapade.
Lord Pax
The old and wise High-Father of the Brotherhood, Pax is a good king amongst his subjects. He treats his successor, Lord Mortis, like a son, while Mortis sees the High-Father as a father figure. Despite his cheery tone, Pax knows quite a few secrets about the history of Nox that he’s prepared to die for.
Gloom
One of Nightmare’s friends and a member of the Sisterhood. Despite being friends with Nightmare, she has quite a cheery personality and is currently dating fellow guild member, Sunset.
Sunset
One of Nightmare’s friends in the Sisterhood. She’s dating Gloom, who shared the human custom of kissing with her.
Grace Dobbs
The attractive single mother of Timothy’s best friend, Spencer. She has a very flirtatious personality that tends to embarrass her son, especially around his friends.
