Hey Brandon? Doesn’t the brotherhood have something LESS violent to gain power, like something similar to the magic book used by Mother Moonlight, Ruth, and Shadow? If they do, wouldn’t it make more sense to use that instead of black magic? They wouldn’t need a noxian sacrifice then…right?
Terminus really isn’t trying to seize power, either, he really just wants to do ONE very specific thing, and he’s just taking advantage of any situation he believes will get him closer to that goal.
This morning when he woke up, he had no intention of becoming High Father, but the opportunity came up quite suddenly, so here we are!

Heh, sometimes I just can’t stand reading these wildly wrong theories… I sometimes get the urge to just steer the conversation onto the correct path, and not have people waste their time over-thinking things. It only leads to disappointment when you build something up in your head and then it turns out to be all for naught.
Yeah, here’s a flash of anger when you realise how wrong you’ve been (it’s happened to me a couple of times) but then your mind accepts the new reality and you start looking again “with new eyes” at the possibilities.
I’ve always found that to be one of the thrills of reading fiction.
I prefer a writer to mislead me and tease me with false trails.
If I can pick the murderer in the first chapter then that book becomes less interesting.
I’ll read on to make sure, but that author gets a permanent black mark & I’m not likely to buy any more of his books.
Currently reading Saxe Rohmer and Rafael Sabatini and i’ve got my eye on a complete G.A. Henty (if Amazon can get their downloading of large works fixed up.)
Either way, it’s not like I’m giving much away.

Aw hey nice to see this has been still going! ^^ Looks like you’re finally getting into the meat of the story too. It’s been quite a little while towards plot advancement. Excited to see what happens next!
Is the symbol on Wormy Termy’s LEFT shoulder the Brotherhood’s official one, or a personal one he’s trying to have accepted as a new Brotherhood one? Certainly the “drawn sword” is already fascistic in it’s very nature and in the vertical orientation is a challenge to all observers.
Does it truly represent an existing aggressive nature of the organisation or is this a new direction that Termy’s introducing?
It’s just a cool design I drew for a shoulder pad. 😅
