I started this series years ago and thought it was interesting and forgot about i however I stumble across it once more and this time I thoroughly enjoyed it bravo glad your still working on it I enjoyed seeing your artwork evolve through the pages thank you for your time in this project
Loving the comic so far, but I was wondering about how you designed your site and archives. I was a bit disappointed that your archived pages don’t open up in the main site, so I couldn’t pick a page and read from there, but instead, I had to pick a page, read it, then hit the “Back” button on my browser and choose another page.
Your comic page URLs aren’t quite standardized, so it does make it difficult to locate an exact page by number. For example, the current page I’m on has the URL “https://themonsterunderthebed.net/?comic=176-something-to-behold#comments”. Wouldn’t it be a little easier to adjust it to “https://themonsterunderthebed.net/?comic=176#comments” instead?
That way, all we need to do is remember the page number, and just change it so it’s easier to read from that point. Theoretically, at least.
Also, I was tempted to stop reading at the end of Chapter 3. To me, that seemed like the best way to end it with a happy ending, but you’re still telling this story, so I’ll stick around until you finish it.
Good luck, and don’t overstrain your hands again, OK?
I have no idea how to ACTUALLY create an archive. It’s just a gallery I update from time to time when I remember. I only made one because people kept complaining. I have no idea what I’m doing when it comes to website design or programming… this whole website is all prefab templates by wordpress/comicpress.
Also, Chapter 3 was only the end of the beginning. Their childhood was never meant to be the focus. In the original idea it was only the first night they met, then it jumps to them as teenagers, but I had a few ideas which kinda snowballed out of control and took 3 years to actually work through. *sigh* If this were a movie, I’d have cut most of that out, or condense it into a montage.
The real story is actually what I’m doing right now.
I have to admit that I haven’t really studied up much on web design in ages, especially about WordPress. I’m wondering if there’s anything I can do to help, though. I can’t promise much, because I’ve got a fair amount of work on my end, but perhaps I could look into it, somehow.
I mean, I’ve seen other webcomic pages, and right now, I’m underestimating this site’s problem; my heart is going “How hard can it be?” while my head is going “You need a certain level of skill to tackle this; it might take much longer than just changing some filenames and fiddling around!”.
Unless, of course, that you’ve already gotten someone else to look over your site and fix things up. In that case, I’ll leave it to you.
Brandon, you have an incredible story consisting of “Love Conquers all!” I can relate to your situation considering it took 2 years to work on the foundation of my own story. 3 more years after, I found myself correcting or even omiting certain parts of the background story. A good story takes alot of time, effort and ALOT of work so just take your time and dont overexert yourself.
Yo not Cool This Men Have His Red Girlfriend after konw kill problem
And is First
A bit off-topic from what everyone else is talking about, but I LOVE the Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness poster!
Wait, dammit, wrong album!
Still a cool poster, though!
No, you’re right. It’s for Tonight, tonight; which of course is on Mellon Collie.
Ah fuck, I can’t believe I corrected myself, lmao.
I never really paid too much attention to the art of the album; all I know is that I love the band and that song.
