Here comes trouble…
Oh, and I’m on vacation for a week, so no comic next week. I’m just telling you guys now! Spread the word! 🙂
Whoa, Tim cussin? Did not see that coming.
Also, is Shadows stocking ripping at the knee or is that just the way the shading fell?
I daresay it looks ripped. Midnight may not be pleased with that development (the stockings are technically Mid’s, IIRC).
And uh-oh… shit just got real. Shadow’s seeing a whole new side to Tim now, and I’m not sure if she’s impressed or slightly afraid.
Yeah, she popped a knee in her stocking. Somehow. Haha. I just felt like putting it in.
That must’ve been one hell of a push to rip a hole that big in her stocking!
“just felt like putting it in”?? Sure …. because now Midnight has two reasons to get involved, as soon as she learns about it. First Craig doesn’t treat her best friend nicely, and then he caused her stocking to rip. And we all know that Midnight has no love for humans, and is willing to kill….
She is willing to use pain and injury against them. But to kill or even cripple? Not sure about that.
I believe the sisterhood would teach them against such things actually. A kid saying they saw a monster would be dismissed as imagination or a nightmare. But severe injury or death? That would be proof and make the humans suspicious and guarded, making it harder and more dangerous to gather that yummy fear from.
Nice! Another page!!
I’ve recently binged read the comic and I’m possitively amazed at how engaging it was!
Thank you!
Brandon, please read this message, I’m french and also pretty good in english, I wish I could translate The Monster Under The Bed for the french communities, i just want you to allow me
Shit’s gonna get real !
Have a nice holiday !
Everyone needs a vacation from time to time to relax, spend time with family, and read a good comic book too.
Hey everybody needs a vacation and uh-oh a mad Tim. I think after this Shadow is going to see Tim in a even more in a different light or is it shadow
You know the shit storm is about to hit when the quiet, nice kid starts cussing when he makes his stand. Just hope Tim has the ass to back up the attitude or it’s not going to end well.
Haha, yeah, we’ll see if maybe he’s just watched too many movies or not.
That reminds me of a comment you made a while back, in response to something I wrote about how Tim (and possibly also Shadow) could benefit from taking unarmed-combat classes between the ages of 12 and 18, in order to be better-prepared for interactions with Nox folk in later in this story. Your comment might count as a spoiler here, so I won’t repeat it –but I will say my opinion, which is based on the Boy Scout Motto, has not changed. I guess I could ask (since I’m not Canadian) how widespread are the Boy Scouts in Canada? If Tim knows nothing about them, he obviously wouldn’t be significantly exposed to their Motto (I was in the Boy Scouts, many years ago…).
I don’t actually recall saying anything about unarmed combat classes myself, though I do remember it coming up before. Maybe you’re thinking of somebody else.
And all I know about the boy scouts is like… they exist. And girl scout cookies rule, but they never come door to door anymore…
” they never come door to door anymore…”
Your reputation??
Not sure human martial arts would be more help or harm against a noxxian. The moves would be totally different and take claws and tail into account, so a simple defensive block might actually be presenting an artery for easy opening, and topples or judo style throws that would put a human on the ground would be far less effective with that tail keeping their balance. All that aside, grappling with something with claws and an extra prehensile limb (Um, Brandon? ARE those things prehensile?) seems to be a bad idea.
On the other hand, a slingshot or other other thrown object seems more a kids style. I believe I saw baseball equipment in his room a while back?
The tails of Nox folk have been portrayed as quite prehensile. See the first, third, and fifth panels of #82 ( /?comic=82-a-third-hand ), for example. However, those tails don’t have the mass to qualify as true balancing members for their bodies. On the other hand, the ability to wrap/grip something makes their tails really good at anchoring Nox bodies, when desired. I suspect that one of the most horrible injuries a Nox could experience is to lose the tail, especially since it is a sense organ in addition to being a mechanical tool. The shock of losing the tail in a fight could be devastating.
Don’t knock unarmed combat techniques. They can make anyone better at classical armed-combat techniques, too (like knife-fighting), because the training encourages balanced posture and alertness, and precise (not-wasteful) motions.
Wait, quiet kid starts cussing to make a stand.
*pumped up kick starts playing*
It’s on!!!
Like a barrel-throwing Ape!
Man, if only we could up vote you in the comments…
Congratulations Craig, fine sir, for you’re about to become the proud recipient of a Darwin Award!
Please, just try to keep the blood on the grass? Don’t want to inconvenience anyone who has to clean it up…
Oh hell… Craig is a dead man.
Good job! Have a relaxing vacation, you’ve deserved it.
There are three things all wise men fear: the sea in storm, a night with no moon, and the anger of a gentle man.
Hehe, good advice!
Oh-hohoho! Finally! Go Get Him, Tim! Kick His Ass All The Way Around The World!!! X3
Can we see one or the other or both of them belt this guy a good one?
This is Thunderdome!
TWO GO IN! ONE COMES OUT!
No, three go in, two come out.
Alright, Tim ! Now it’s time to face your fear and be a man ! XD
Actually, we have only been told that Tim is afraid of girls. That doesn’t mean he is afraid of anything else.
So far, I’d say he hasn’t acted afraid, more like annoyed.
It’s at this point that Tim would take a page from the Jimmy Hopkins guide to dealing with Bullies.
Brandon has shared things with me in private… things concerning future posts of this comic, and it is glorious.
I guess my magic crystal ball was right: there will be a fist heading in Craig’s head’s vicinity.
Or if we’re lucky then it’ll be going somewhere a little more… painful…
Either is good with me.
I’ll let you know when we get there 3:)
