For anyone who thinks Terminus is about to stab Pax, note that in panel 3 he’s unwrapping the dagger. In the last panel, he’s letting go of the dagger after stabbing it into the table, not picking it up. He showing that he has (some of) the means to open the seal.
To that, I’ll only say that the last panel is ambiguous. There are no motion lines to indicate whether Terminus is letting the knife go or is preparing to grab it for an assassination.
Heh. I also can’t help but suspect it’s his.
To think of it, that’s not very probable, but still he is likely to at least know more about this than he lets on.
Alright, now I really want (need?) to hear Lord Pax’s version of the history of the Core. And just how much of it does (the ironically named) Ruthless know?
It should tell us why a hybrid is needed to open it. (Also, my personal theory: Shadow is a hybrid as well, the hybrid child of Lord Mortis and a human woman. In this case, hybrids would tend to take after their fathers in phenotype.)
There’s more things true than are told. But are there also more things told than are true?
Are all the details Terminus managed to dig out plain truth? Any more than it would be with humans leaving notes about the subject of great importance which they also had some reason to keep obscure for several generations?
It seems that the event related to the core was so hard for them that they has turned into a taboo thing.
Forget where the core is seems more like fear a curse or the past than a real challenge.
I maintain my hypothesis of a past human-noxian war. It explain a lot about need an hybrid blood and specially if it was through “traitors” (to the noxian empire) that the humans (or human-noxian alliance defeated them.
Loose a war+traitors+quick destruction of the noxian empire seems enough disaster to desire forget the past and turn all into a taboo for their culture.
In fact the history could be even more complicated and maybe the noxians that close the door with help of humans did just not because a huge war with humans, but a civil war between noxians because noxians in control abuse their power, create great horrors and they were close to create a cathastrophe.
First! Also, that last panel can’t lead to anything good.
Oh boy…

I was going to make a counter-argument, but Brandon has already modified the strip to make it unambiguous anyway.
This is seriously great work.
Oh shit
I wonder how the High Father would react now.
this is soo exciting
And High Father should ask: “why are you do damage my table with my dagger?” XD
Heh. I also can’t help but suspect it’s his.

Let the overthrowing commence!
Why posting so early in the morning ? You should sleep, Brandon. Anyway I just hope Terminus will receive a great correction for his attitude.
We live in different time zones clearly. Haha.
You said you live in Ontario, I live in Quebec. I believe both provinces are in the same time zone, aren’t they?
But, isn’t Quebec still half in the 19thC?
FOOLISHNESS, DANTE. FOOLISHNESS.
Oh, the two of them have already done all that…

Well, Ruthless isn’t really involved in the business of the core… so she doesn’t know very much about it.
What she did? Just sneaked out with Moonie to learn more magic than they were supposed to, and then watched that one human dude? =)
There’s more things true than are told. But are there also more things told than are true?

Anna said in page 175 that she is pregnant so we will have a new information about this theory when the baby will be born…
