I’m literally seething right now. The pathetic tim knows he vhose wrong! TRUE LOVE IS WORTH MORE THAN ANYTHING. ITS WHY MOTHERS GIVE THERE LIVES FOR THERE CHILDREN WHY FATHERS BUILD EMPIRES. TRUE LOVE IS THE MOST IMPORTANT THING IN THE UNIVERSE. and that green haired punk i cant say i hate him yet becuase i dont know what his goal is but if it starts with murder even accidental it can’t lead to anything good.
“…I don’t know what his deal is…” You are given clues in certain page sequences in the 120s and 130s.
“murder even accidental” sorry, if a killing is accidental it’s not murder. maybe manslaughter, maybe death by misadventure or through negligence but to be “murder” requires intent and ONLY a court can make that decision.
IANAL, but his crime would very much depend on if laws in Noctis are based on English Common Law or not. My best guess is that it might be based on some variant of English Common Law as there’s so much crossover between the human and Noctis realms that it would be insanity to imagine that these two groups haven’t mingled enough for there to be a plethora of commonalities between them. That being said, it’s still up in the air as to whether or not these beings differentiate between 1st and 2nd degree murder in their legal system. I suppose this is something that will have to be touched on later, if at all. This is a comic after all, not freaking LOTR.
My point was to alert Omega to the essential component of “intent” Not all killings are murder, a distinction that Omega appeared to disregard by saying “…murder even accidental…”.
I’m aware that there are differences between English and US systems of jurisprudence (and Canadian and Australian) but “intent” as a component is common.
Turkish and Russian systems differ again and let’s not discuss Japanese or Chinese law.
So far, we’ve only seen interactions between Nox and Canadian realms, so it’s most likely that transfer of legal concepts has been from a very resticted knowledge base (if it has happened at all!!)
Nox law may be tribal in origin or based on colonisation from Mars, Alpha Centauri or Elfhame.
I love this site for discussions exactly like this. I had no idea Russian and Turkish systems of law differed so much from English or ‘western’ common law.
Me too and (it seems to me) that most systems either derived from the Code Napoleon or tribal systems, place undue reliance upon testimony of Authority (capital intentional) unsupported by verifiable evidence.
In other words, tread VERY carefully in other cultures, their idea of a “fair” trial may not be what you expect if you’r used to a sytem related to English Common Law (derived from the Germanic-Scandinavian)
The point I’m trying to make is that his beliefs put another person’s life in danger pretty drastically. His intent at this point whether good or evil has killed somebody.
I have a question. It’s about Eclipse. When Moonlight saw Eclipse, she seemed annoyed, almost like she had a dislike for Eclipse or at least her occupation as a paramour. I know Eclipse is not part of the Sisterhood and paramour is a job in Nox, but my question is why is Moonlight displeased with Eclipse? Don’t answer this question if the reason why she is displeased with Eclipse and the definition of a paramour in Nox is revealed later in the story. I want to be surprised.
If Terminus suggested that territory change, I’d expect Lady Moonlight to recognize that this added suggestion was more of a “to make the deal even less even.” He wants the ruins, he wants the bonding rite.
He doesn’t seem like he’s sophisticated enough to maneuver her into suggesting a territory change that happens to include the ruins without her realizing it, unless she’s not nearly as competent as I’ve been thinking.
That said, I’m also aware that her recognizing something doesn’t mean that she won’t get into the rope business. Frequently people in charge of a society or faction are already in the rope business.
Unfortunately, given the way she’s dressed up Shadow here, Shadow’s the obvious choice for any suggested mating rite. Terminus choosing her would not say anything additional about his plans.
With all of Terminus’ behaviors of late, with regards of murdering the Master of the Brotherhood; when might we fear Lady Moonlight to be “dearly departed” for his plans to succeed. Additionally, Shadow (as well as the human woman, Anna) are soon (have?) to become targets as the latter is pregnant (possibly); thus Nightmare has much to lose. Will she seek to despoil her “beloved”, and if so, where and what chips will lay cast among those who haven’t foreseen the interesting probabilities… 😉

Oh I know where this is going. Can’t wait for that little surprise.
I just read through all this in one night and I am hooked, looking forward to more
The bonding rite… To open the door…

She just doesn’t want *that kind of woman* in her halls, that’s all.
What exactly do you mean by “that kind of woman”? I’m wondering if those words are meant to emphasize something obvious and I’m not getting it.

What do you mean by “…the rope business…”?
Are you not familiar with the suggestion, “give them enough rope to hang themselves”?
What happened to “I want to be surprised”?

*A devious plot that you written, Brandon. Thank you… *
